A BRAND NEW SPORT CHOPSTICK FLICKKAP BASIC PROCESS AND RULES OF CHOPSTICK FLICKKAP ALAN COCHLAN: INVENTOR

The Equipment: Two household items: 1. Two plastic milk or juice plastic bottle, plastic cap top (See fig 1. Photo). 2. As many a there are players one for each player, bamboo chopstick, must be thin and flexible (will be able to flex and bend but not break) its the cheap kind of give away chopstick with take out food. (See fig 2. Photo). The process how to play the game: Each player will have one chopstick to play. The sport consists of two teams. Each team will have a min of 2 players and up to 5 players each team may play in one game. Each team will start at zero unless the team is handicapped for fairness (lets say if the adults are playing the kids, Then kids can have a head start). The chopstick is the piece of equipment used by each player to flick the cap to a team member. The team member can catch the cap with the left hand only. Using the bamboo chopstick (see fig 3. Photo). When a player flicks the top they must be stationary, see rules below. The object of the game: The object is to score more goals then the opponent. Goals are scored when a player with the cap in hand reaches the other goal line or wall, depending whether the game is being played indoors or outdoors. Length of the Game Chostick Flickcap is played over four 15-minute quarters. There is a three-minute break between the first and second quarter and the third and fourth quarters. The half time break is five minutes. Injury time is up to two minutes. Starting the Game The game commences with the first centre flick taken at the referee's whistle (thats if you have a referee. After each goal is scored, the two centre players, irrespective of who scores the goal, take a new centre flick alternatively. The referee's whistle indicates the beginning and end of each quarter. Scoring a Goal A goal is scored when any player reaches and touches the opponents goal wall or line (indoors or outdoors). The referee's whistle signals the goal is scored. Team Changes and Substitutions A team may make any number of substitutions at the quarter, half or three-quarter time break as well as during a stoppage due to injury or illness. If a substitution or team change is made due to injury or illness, the injured or ill player must be involved in the substitution or positional change. The opposing team is free to make substitutions or positional changes, regardless if the team who called for the time out makes no changes. Contact A player cannot accidently or deliberately come into contact with another player in a way, which impedes their play. For example, pushing, charging, tripping, throwing the body against an opponent or using the body to push or contact an opponent. Players must not hold an opponent, nor keep their elbows against another player. Obstruction A player with arms extended cannot defend a player with the cap, closer than 0.9m (3 feet). A player may stand close to an opponent without the cap provided their arms are not extended, but a player may not use intimidating actions against an opponent with or without the cap. If the attacking player lessens the distance in their throwing or shooting action, then the defending player is not considered to be obstructing because it was the attacking player and not the defending player who shortened the distance. Held Cap A player must flick the cap or touch for goal within three seconds of receiving the cap.

Offside There is no offside in this sport. Short Flick There must always be room for a third player to move in between the hands of the thrower and those of the receiver when flicking. Flicks that do not have this room are called short flicks. Penalties There are five types of penalties in Chostick Flickcap: 1. Free flick 2. Penalty flick 3. Penalty flick or shot 4. Flick-in in. a. Free Flick A free flick is awarded for infringements on the court involving one player. The flick is taken where the infringement occurred by any player who is allowed in the area. The offending player does not have to stand beside the thrower taking the flick. If a free flick is awarded in the goal circle, the shooter may only flick the cap - not shoot for goal. b. Penalty Flick/Penalty Flick or Shot A penalty flick is awarded for contact, intimidation and obstruction infringements. The flick is taken where the infringer was standing, except if it places the non-defending team at a disadvantage. Any player who is allowed in the area can take the flick. The penalized player must stand "out of play". That is, beside and away from the player taking the flick and make no attempt to take part in play. This includes directing play, until the cap has left the throwers hands. If a penalty is given to a Goal Attack or Goal Shooter in the goal circle they are awarded a "penalty flick or shot". c. Flick-In When the cap goes out of court it is flicked-in by an opponent of the team in the court that was last to touch it. The player taking the throw-in should place one or both feet behind the point where the cap crossed the line and make sure all other players are on the court before throwing the cap.
