Life of Moses

1. INTRODUCTION
The Project Life of Moses is a presentation about one of the moral value. The subject is taken from the Bible. It mainly focuses on Ten Commandments which gives confidence to our life. Moses means I drew him out of the water. He was the first mediator between God and men and in that sense, he was Prophet. In his childhood, he got teaching about his Israelite roots and his people from her mother. He has got the best training in Egypts palace. He has a mastery of all. God calls him out to deliver his people from their slavery to the Egyptians. At last God calls Moses to deliver out of his people by doing some miracles. From this project, everyone can understand the reality of life. They can feel the Gods love. It is developed by using MacromediaFlashMX2004.

Life of Moses
2. PROBLEM DEFINITION
The story creation has done in Macromedia FlashMX2004. The subject taken from the Bible is Life of Moses. It is very useful for the people to lead their life in an honest way.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Once upon a time there was an evil king in Egypt. He wanted his people to be the greatest & the mightiest nation. He noticed that there were a lot of children in Israel. He had fears that Israel would take over Egypt one day. He gave an order saying, "Every son that is born in Israel has to be cast into the river There was a baby boy born in a Hebrew family. Mother was hiding the child for three months. When she could not hide her son any longer she put him in a basket in the reeds in the Nile River. The daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river. When she saw the basket, she sent her maiden to get it. The baby was crying. She knew that it was one of Hebrews' children, but she wanted to keep him. She was able to teach him about God & Hebrew ways. When it was time, she took him back to the Pharaoh's daughter. The new mother named the child Moses. She was raising Moses as her own son. He was educated, he was a military leader, but in his heart Moses was Hebrew. One day, Moses went out to his people & he looked at how hard they had to work for Egyptians. Moses saw a mean taskmaster beating a Hebrew. Moses slew the Egyptian & hid him in sand. Hebrew people did not accept this. Pharaoh was looking for Moses to deal with him...Moses ran away to the desert & he came to the land of Midian. One day Moses came to the mountain of God. He saw the bush in flames, but it did not burn. Moses was very curious, he came closer...There was an Angel who called Moses by name. Angel told Moses to go to Egypt & to ask Pharaoh to release the Hebrews. But, Moses did not believe. To make free from his fear, Lord tells Moses to take the rod that he is holding and to cast it onto the ground. Moses does so, and the rod turns into a serpent! God then tells Moses to pick up the serpent by the tail. When he does, the serpent turns back into the rod! So Moses & his brother Aaron came to the Pharaoh, Youve been mean & cruel to my people. Let my people go, as God

has commanded. "Pharaoh did not want to let Hebrew people go. Then God sent a plague. Pharaoh promised to release the Hebrew people as soon as the plague was over. Moses asked ten times & God sent ten plagues. Finally, Pharaoh said, Get out of my people, both you & the children of Israel. All the Hebrew people packed up their belongings & left Egypt for the new land that God had promised them. He made several miracles for the people in the way of Moses. Some of them are, 1.Water Turns Into Blood 2. Frog 3.Flies The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light. When Pharaoh & his army came close to the Hebrew people, Moses said, "The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."The pillar of the cloud came between the camp of Israel & the camp of Egyptians. It was the cloud of darkness for Egyptians & a cloud of light for Israel The Lord said to Moses, "Lift up you rod, and stretch your hand over the sea, and divide it and the children of Israel shall go on the dry ground in the middle of the sea."And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord blew a strong wind all the night. The Red Sea parted and there was a dry path to go...In the morning the Hebrews started to cross the sea. They were walking on the dry path, and the huge walls of water were on the both sides of the miracle path...Egyptians were behind the cloud till almost all the Hebrew people were through. They were waiting for the chance to go. As soon as the cloud moved away, Pharaoh and his army started after their slaves. So when all the Hebrews crossed the Red Sea, God told Moses to stretch his hand over the sea, that the waters might come over Egyptians. So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the desert. During three days they did not have any water. When they finally came to the river & tasted the water, they found out that it was bitter. And the people murmured. Moses cried to the Lord; the Lord had shown him a tree to cast into the water. The water became sweet! They dont

have food to eat. Everybody was discouraged & murmured again. But God did not fail them. He sent the bread from Heaven. God was leading Moses & his people to the Promise Land. On the third month of journey, they came to the mountain Sinai. The Lord said On the third day I will come in a thick cloud & I will speak to you, that they will hear too."On the third day in the morning, there was lightning and thunder and smoke, because the Lord descended on the mountain in fire. The Lord spoke and everybody heard him! At last, he gave Ten Commandments which gives discipline and confidence to our life. 1 .I am the Lord your God; You shall have no other Gods before me. 2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. 3. Remember to keep holy the Lords Day. 4. Honor your father and mother. 5. You shall not kill. 6. You shall not commit adultery. 7. You shall not steal. 8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 9.You shall not covet your neighbors house. 10.You shall not covet your neighbors goods.

3.2. Existing System:

In previous day, the story telling was done manually. Its not effective when we conveying the stories in a normal way. Sometimes, it becomes bored to listen and hear the story.

3.3. Proposed System:

To overcome the problem of existing system, the story was computerized. Though many CDs are available in the market. Here we are implementing our own ideas and visualized it in a effective manner. Because, the visualization is the most powerful tool for interaction .So the children and adults like to see and learn the morals will be remain in their mind longer.

3.4. Package Selected

The project Life of Moses is developed by using Flash MX 7.0. Flash provides various tools to developed and design complex animations easily. The story is easily animated using sound effects and flash tools. Flash movies are graphics and animations for websites. It consists primarily of Vector Graphics, but they can also import bitmap graphics and sounds. Flash movies can incorporate interactivity to permit viewers, and you can create non linear movies which can interact with other web applications. In web sites flash is used to create Navigation controls, animated logos etc. Flash offers an introduction to the following topics : Symbols Scenes Layers Sounds and Animation Action Scripts

Web users received the flash player with their computers, browsers or system software; others have downloaded it from the macromedia websites. The flash player resides on the local computer where it plays back movies in browsers or as stand-alone applications. Viewing a flash movie on the flash player is similar to viewing the video tape. The flash player is the device used to display the movies that create in the flash authoring applications. Sound Usage in Animations:

L.Deepa & V.Gowri - JAC, Periyakulam.

Life of Moses
Macromedia Flash 7.0 offers a number of ways to use sounds. You can make sounds that play continuously, independent of the Timeline or you can synchronize animation to a sound track. You can add sounds to buttons to make them more interactive, and make sounds fade in and out for a more polished sound track. There are two types of sounds in Flash: event sounds and stream sounds. An event sound must download completely before it begins playing, and it continues playing until explicitly stopped. Stream sounds begin playing as soon as enough data for the first few frames has been downloaded; stream sounds are synchronized to the Timeline for playing on a Web site. You select compression options to control the quality and size of sounds in exported movies. You can select compression options from individual sounds using the Sound properties dialog box, or define settings for all sounds in the movie in the Publish settings dialog box. You can use sounds I shared libraries, to link a sound from one library to multiple movies.

3.5 FEASIBILITY STUDY

Economic Feasibility: In this project the developing time is around 6 months. It is easy to use and handle the tools when we compared to other animation software. Technical Feasibility: The system is feasible for the innovative background of the organization. In this system the software required is Flash MX2004. Operational Feasibility: The software used is very user-friendly. Even a new person unknown of the software can also work with this application. It doesnt need any specially trained person to handle this project. Manual document given to them is useful to handle the project easily.

5. IMPLEMENTATION
5. 1.Special Features FLASH Flash is a multimedia graphics program especially for use on the web, from Macromedia Inc., USA with Flash we can, Draw Paint Create Text Create Shapes Create Animation Create Movies Flash is interactive design software hence it doesnt require programming skills and also, it easy to learn. When we create some matter in flash and save, it has the file extension (.swf) (Shock Wave File).

Macromedia Flash Player, which runs the applications that you create, installs by default along with Flash. The flash player ensures that all (.swf) content is viewable and available consistency and across the broad cost range of platforms, browsers and devices. Before you can begin to use Flash to create graphics and animation you need understand your workspace in Flash. When you first launch flash it opens into various features with their own functionality. The workspace is combined of these six major areas, Timeline

The Tool Bars The tool is the tool bar let you draw paint, select and modify artworks as well as change the view of the stage. The Panel and the Property Inspector Flash offers many ways to customize the workspace to your needs using panels and the property Inspector. You can view, organize and change the assets and their attributes. You can show, hide and resize panels. The property Inspector changes to reflect the tool or asset you working with giving you quick access to frequently used features. These are available in the window menu.

The Timeline The timeline is the core of the activity field in Flash. It contains the main production elements. It organizes and controls a documents content over time in layer and frame. The major components of the timeline are layer, frames and the play head: The layers in documents are listed in a column on the left side of the timeline. The frames contained in each layer appear in a row to the right the layer name.

The timeline header at the top of the timeline indicator frame number. The play head indicates the current frame displayed on the stage. The timeline status displayed at the bottom of the timeline indicates the selected frame number, the current frame rate and the elapsed time to the current frame. Drawing in Flash Drawing in Flash is easy because of the assistance given by the individuals tools options. The toolbox is divided into four sections. Working tools, viewing tools and tool options. These are six working tools. The curser changes its appearance depends upon the tool selected. The options transfer at the bottom of tool box displays the option available for the selected tool. There are three types of selection tools: Arrow tool, Sub selection tool, lasso tool. Line tool, Pen tool, Pencil tool and Brush tool help in creating the drawing. Ink bottle tool, paint bucket tools, ink dropper, and fill transform tool help in filling the drawings. Free transform tool and eraser tool or are tools helpful in modifying the drawings. Text tool helps in creating text matter Circle and Oval tool help in creating shape. Hand tool and Magnifier tool help in viewing the items.

Stroke color and fill color help in coloring the objects. Overlapping shapes and lines in the same layer get cut at the meeting points.

Objects For Animation Any object or text you create in Flash can be animated. You can also import JPEG,GIF, or BMP images into Flash and animate them as well. You can animate several aspects of an object size, shape, rotation and transparency. Key frames are very important in transfer they indicate or defined the ranges in every frame. In tweening animation you can go from one frame to another and specify the changes in the animation and Flash program will create the frames in between. Layers hold the different objects and animation independently which belong to a scene. New layer can be added, named and unwanted layer can be deleted. Flash can create two types of tweened animations. o Shape tweening o Motion tweening In shape tweening, changing of shape is animation. In motion tweening, movement of the object is the animation.

Symbols

L.Deepa & V.Gowri - JAC, Periyakulam.

15

Life of Moses
A symbol is an element you create or import once and create reuse throughout the movie or movies. An instance is a copy of the symbol placed in stage. There are three types of symbols: o Graphics o Buttons o Movie Clip Graphics symbols are used in static images. They are helpful when the same modifications. Interactive controls and sounds will not work with them. Buttons symbols are preferred where interactivity is needed in the animation. They respond to mouse clicks of rollover or other actions. Movie clip symbols are simple animation which play independently they are used like mini movies inside a movie. You can create a symbol by selecting an objects on the stage or you can create an empty symbol and either make or import the content. To edit a symbol you must be in symbol editing mode and when the editing is over, you must return to document editing mode. A content is a symbol that contains four frames for different button stages up, over, down and hit. Action Script and Events

L.Deepa & V.Gowri - JAC, Periyakulam.

16

Life of Moses
Action script is the programming language of flash. The action script adds functionality to the flash components. Events are action panel is used create, edit and delete actions for an objects or frame in a movie. The action tool box in this panel has various categories and subcategories that contain commands for different actions that can be performed. The stop command is used to stop the movie at a particular frame in the timeline. Frames labels ate names that are useful to identify the key frame in the timeline. In the script pane if the action panel be code can be written in normal mode or expert mode. Action script can be attached to frames and buttons to navigate through web pages in a websites. The three text types in flash are static, dynamic and input .Input text fields enables the user to type in a flash Front - End. The user input textbox can be assigned to a variable and validate using action script. In frame by frame animation a different images is created for each frame. Movies can be saved in wave format (.swf), by pressing Ctrl + Enter key.

Adding sounds to movie To add a sound to a movie from the library, you assign the sound to a layer and set options in the Sound controls in the Property inspector. It is recommended that you place each sound on a separate layer. You can load a sound into a movie during runtime using the load Sound method of the Sound object. To test sounds that you add to a movie, you can use the same methods you use to preview frames or test movies: drag the play head over the frames containing the sound.

6 .SYSTEM TESTING
6.1. Types of Testing User Interface Testing: User Interface Testing comes at the final stage. User can easily detect any error in the output of a particular input. The package should be totally bugged free, the user interface testing. The user acceptance is one of the main factors in the development .The implementation of testing comes after the testing. Integration Testing: Integration testing is a systematic technique for constructing the program structure while conducting tests at the same time to uncover errors associated with interfacing. We have used incremental integration testing for this project
