Is the Bradford Executive MBA right for you?

Managers reach a stage in their careers when to progress they need to develop a portfolio of management skills which enable them to take a holistic rather than purely functional approach to management. Finance as well as marketing, operations as well as human resources, long term as well as short, strategy as well as tactics.
With nearly half a century of delivering top quality management education, we are perfectly placed to help managers develop these essential skills. Our extensive experience has taught us that people learn and apply that learning in different ways. For that reason weve adopted a blended learning approach to programme delivery and assessment, which encourages deeper understanding and more sustainable knowledge. This approach incorporates self-study, individual and group learning, online collaboration and learning-bydoing, through role-play and case studies. Our style is distinctively British but with a real international outlook. Especially helpful to you will be our online library, which gives you access to over 1,000 business and management journals and database services that provide company and market information. This world of information is accessible through a common interface, MetaLib. Everything we do has an emphasis on application and practicality the Universitys slogan is Making Knowledge Work. We are committed to practical, real world business teaching methods, which make it easier to immediately apply learning to the workplace. This combination of academic and applied learning creates confident business leaders who can make knowledge work and achieve real results. Its an approach thats reflected in the profiles of our world class academics, who work at the cutting edge of business and industry. Bradford University School of Management is consistently ranked by the FT and others as amongst the top 10 UK, top 20 European and top 80 global management schools. The Bradford Executive MBA has been ranked one of the top 10 in the UK, and top 70 in the world, by the Financial Times. And dont just take our word for it. We are subject to regular audits by the leading global MBA accreditation bodies, EQUIS (accreditation service of the European Foundation for Management Development) only around 130 schools in the world have this and AMBA (the Association of MBAs). We have a wealth of international experience. Uniquely, we integrate your personal development into the MBA programme through our acclaimed Personal Development Portfolio (PDP), which forms an assessed part of your course.

Alumni network
Our support for your career does not end once you graduate. You will become part of a network of over 30,000 alumni working in 110 countries in diverse industry sectors. You will also benefit from a strong local alumni network as many of our alumni in Dubai work for major high profile, high impact private and public sector organizations. Lorraine Lucas, Postgraduate Careers and Alumni Manager Kamala Huseynova Emirates Holidays Tours Sales Manager, Kamala Huseynova, who originally hails from Azerbaijan, achieved a family ambition when she joined the Bradford University MBA programme. I wanted to do the MBA in order to understand and view a bigger picture and it was also a dream of my father and grandfather, said Kamala, who is responsible for business development and sales of Emirates Holidays for southern Europe and CIS markets. This MBA has changed me a lot and I am really grateful to Bradford University. My understanding of business has grown to a higher level and aspects that I was previously uncertain about have now become clear to me. I have also expanded my networking through our cohort, Kamala continued. Bradford University knows and understands the UAE it has been in Dubai for almost 15 years and ensures we apply our academic knowledge via our work assignments to the Dubai market. I recommend the programme to others on a daily basis in fact, my husband started the programme this year. Salman Abdullah Salman Abdullah works for Dubai Aluminium and is currently on a secondment to the organizations joint venture Emirates Aluminium in Abu Dhabi where he is Chief Operations Officer (COO). Back in 2005 I was promoted to a general manager position and started to attend management meetings. However, as a manager with an engineering background, I found myself lost, firstly, in the vocabulary used by the chief financial officer and the chief executive officer, and then more importantly in the logic behind some of the decisions. There were many good MBA programmes on offer in Dubai but they had not been thought out from the students point of view. Due to the modularity of Bradfords programme and dedicated 3 day approach for each module, I was able to continue the MBA even when I was promoted to the COO position and had to travel a 200km round trip to work. Attending evening classes just would not have been sustainable for me. I can now more clearly translate the strategic board room decisions to shop floor practices and link the action at the shop floor all the way back to the business performance figures.
