Martha Hill Latasha McCord Rachael McGaha The standard we have chosen for our video is from the

National Educational Technology Standard for Teachers (NETS-T). The standard states: Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. a. Participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning b. Exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others c. Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning d. Contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self- renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community The video will be a staff development resource that exhibits how to effectively connect and navigate an interactive smart board. The target audience will be current special education teachers in the Intellectual Disabled Programs ranging from 24 to 50 years of age. The cultural backgrounds are 60 % Caucasian and 40 % African American. The teachers have a variety of degrees from Bachelors, Masters, and Specialist in Education. In order to participate in the staff development and receive an interactive smart board, the participants must be current teachers in an intellectual disabled classroom. Ten have been chosen to receive an interactive smart board for their classrooms. They must commit to receive several hours of training involving the smart board. The teachers have a variety of learning styles, but the majorities are audio and visual learners. They are motivated to gain an understanding of effectively utilizing the smart board to enhance the learning of students in their classroom. The information gained from the staff development course and video will help to accomplish the teachers goals. Additionally, this experience will produce successful outcomes and participants will remain motivated to continue use of the smart board. And further more improve student learning and develop the technology skills of others.
