When a family member or friend may be in need of this anointing, please call the Rectory Office. It is important that a family member indicate that the person being admitted to the hospital is a Catholic and belongs to a certain parish. Our Parish Ministers who are visitors go to the hospital almost everyday.
NEW MEMBERS We welcome new members to our parish family. We invite you to become an active participant of our parish community. Please introduce yourself to the Pastor and call the rectory to register.

HOSPITAL

A SPECIAL NOTE for those who find it difficult to walk, etc. The front pews across the Church are reserved for you. Communion can be brought to your pew. If anyone needs Communion in any pew, just indicate that to the Minister of the Eucharist who will come to the person in need. HEARING AIDS: For the hearing impaired, aides are available to borrow in the Sacristy before Mass.

NEWS FROM ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY

November 15th , Thursday A Special Thanksgiving Dinner prepared by the members and for the members at 6 pm. Please call Marion Waite for reservation (337-6940). Smart Shopper Coupon Books are available to Sale for $20. December 15th: Plans are being made for our Annual Parish Christmas Party at the Franklyn Hotel. Save the date for this Parish event. The Members Homemade Quilt is being raffled. Members have tickets for $1.00 and 6 for $5.00. FOR OUR TROOPS IN SERVICE Items are being collected that can be sent to the armed services for our young people serving our country. Their needs are: sunscreen, lotions, wet wipes, tooth paste, tooth brushes, etc. Also writing materials: pens, pencils, pads, etc. Phone cards are welcome. They may be left at the Rectory at any time or call Pauline Froelich (768-4969) who will make arrangements to get them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The documents of Vatican II Throughout the Year of Faith, we will have many opportunities to become familiar with these documents that the council produced. Each week, our bulletin will highlight one of the Documents or Decrees. Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (Lumen Gentium) November 21,1964. It presented the church as a mystery, as a communion of baptized believers, as the people of God, as the body of Christ and as a pilgrim moving toward fulfillment in heaven but marked on earth with a sanctity that is real, although imperfect.

RITE OF ACCEPTENCE/RITE OF WELCOMING SUNDAY, November 18th at the 10 am Mass. We will welcome new members in our midst. Katie, Jordynn and Madison will be celebrating the :Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens. They are preparing for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Karen, Elizabeth, John, Nurdan and Jeremiah already share our Christian Faith through Baptism. They will celebrate the Rite of Welcoming as they mark this moment of following Gods call to live the Christian Faith and complete their initiation within the Catholic Community. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue their journey. ATTENTION CHOIR MEMBERS Christmas Choir practice will begin on Sunday, November 18th immediately following the 11:30 Mass. Practices will take place downstairs in the Church Hall. All are welcome. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rome Twigs presents -TREE OF LIGHTS SUNDAY December 2nd at 6:30 pm Honor or memorialize a loved one with the purchase of a light on the Rome Memorial Hospital Tree of Lights. A $5 donation per name will help buy equipment for the hospital. Send donations to Rome Twigs @ Rome Memorial Hospital by November 16th. This year the Twigs will honor Dr. Fred Grabo for his many years of service to the Hospital.

HealthFriends

is located on Hospitality Row in Utica, & annually responds to 1100 requests from uninsured. Income eligible people (children, adults, seniors) in need of prescription medication that they cannot afford. Many people would have to choose between buying prescription medicine or food for their families. Each month HealthFriends must pay a nearly $5,500 pharmacy bill for the help it gives. Funds come from free will offerings, grants and fundraisers. YOU can help by planning to buy a Thanksgiving Bouquet next weekend in the vestibule of church. As always, the donation for a bouquet is $8. If you or someone you know needs help from HealthFriends for your meditation call 724-0988.

EUCHARISTIC OPEN HOUSE

The Committee for Perpetual Adoration will host an informational Open House at Transfiguration Church on November 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm. All who have signed up for a weekly Holy Hour, and everyone who would like to sign up are invited for a brief presentation and orientation. You will receive information packets, meet the Coordinator for your specific day, and see the beautiful Blessed John Paul II Chapel where Adoration will take place. Day and night Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament because of His infinite love for us. He is waiting for YOU!
