Phone 815 838-2592 Fax 815 838-2401 E-mail church@saint-dennis.org Web - http://www.saint-dennis.org Our Mission Statement St. Dennis is a welcoming, Spirit-led, Catholic Community called to be disciples of Christ, servants of those in need and celebrators of Gods love. Dear Family, Pope Benedict the 16th has proclaimed a special Year of Faith for the church beginning this fall. This is the 50th anniversary of the opening of the second Vatican council. Faith is the most precious gift that we have received. Faith in God, faith in our church , faith in our families, and the gift of faith within ourselves. Our faith helps us receive the gift of eternal life from Jesus. There is nothing we can do to earn this gift. We receive this gift by believing that Jesus died for us and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior. Faith is the key for miracles and healing. We would like every family to have a wonderful book called Magnificat: Year of Faith Companion. There is a reflection for every day of the year. It is a wonderful tool to increase our faith. Copies of the book are available at each entrance of the church, we ask for a $3 per book to cover our cost. Please feel free to purchase more than one book. Thank you to those who attended, purchased raffle tickets or bid on auction items for our annual school fundraiser Jubilation An Affair To Remember. A special thanks to the Steering Committee of Michelle Billows, Sandra Henderson, Kim Hubbard and Kym Bruining and for the hard work of our auction committee chairpersons Susan King, Andrea Baumhardt and Patti Margentina. Thank you to all who donated auction items for this years Jubilation. Thank you to the many incredible parents of St. Dennis for volunteering to make this event a success. May God bless you. In the Lords Love, Fr. Jim WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Elijah and Jesus both witness the faith of widows in today's readings. There is no escaping the reality that as Stewards, if we believe in Christ, then we have the tools to make a positive difference in the lives we encounter in our daily routine. The Gospels widow contributes all she has.
