0. Data
There are many details here that are not really necessary. In a professional environment they are useful for tracking calibrations.
As a minimum, it is recommended to check the cells highlighted with bright-yellow fill.

1. Warm-up
To be sure that your display has warmed up, run dispcal every 10 minutes or so and look for stability in White Level and Colour Tem
2. Uniformity
This step is not necessary for calibration. You might do this the first time you evaluate a new display.
Use dispcal to measure the display response at 9 positions around the screen.
3. Native response
Use dispcal to measure the basic response, spotread to measure grey patches and spotread to measure RGB primaries.
For spotread with the -T option, Closest Daylight temperature may be satifactory but check the Delta E to locus.
The grey scale Closest Daylight temperature and Delta E averages and standard deviations do not include the black point, which is
Primaries can be checked on Sheet 9. Gamut plot.
4. Calibrated response
As Sheet 2. Native Response.
For narrow-gamut displays (less than sRGB) it's probably best to stop here.

5. AdobeRGB check
This check is only relevant for wide-gamut displays.
Use spotread to measure the 24 AdobeRGB colour patches in a colour-managed viewer.
There are many data and calculations in this sheet which you do not need to worry about.
If you get delta E calculation errors for black and perhaps dark-grey then increase the precision of X,Y,Z (three or four decimal plac
Cells with light green fill contain the reference values (white point and colour space specific Lab).

6. sRGB check
This check can be run for both wide- and standard- gamut displays.
Use spotread to measure the 24 sRGB colour patches in a colour-managed viewer.
There are many data and calculations in this sheet which you do not need to worry about.
If you get delta E calculation errors for black and perhaps dark-grey then increase the precision of X,Y,Z (three or four decimal plac
Cells with light green fill contain the reference values (white point and colour space specific Lab).

7. AdobeRGB plot
Results from Step 5. AdobeRGB check.
Colours are indistinguishable when Delta E < 1 (excellent). Delta E < 2 (good) is a just noticeable difference. Delta E < 3 is still satisfa

If there are large errors for some colours, these may be out-of-gamut (check Sheet 9. Gamut plot).
8. sRGB plot
Results from Step 6. sRGB check.
If there are large errors for some colours, these may be out-of-gamut (check Sheet 9. Gamut plot).
9. Gamut plot
Gamut results: native, calibrated compared to sRGB and AdobeRGB gamuts.

11. What about changing targets?

You might have a specific target for your work and this workbook is setup only for D65 AdobeRGB and sRGB.
To change targets, you can modify the calibration targets in Sheet 0. Data.
Then you shall have to modify the references in Sheet 5. AdobeRGB check and Sheet 6. sRGB check (or make new sheets).
