Grand Rapids FRC Bulletin

November 18, 2012

Pastor Robert and his wife Taunya VanDoodewaard have requested that their membership papers for them and their children Caleb, Tiana, Jude, and Kezia be transferred to the Grace Free Reformed Church of Brantford, ON. We commend them to the Lord's care and keeping and pray for the Lord's blessing as he takes up his work in Powassan. At its November 12 meeting, the consistory was at liberty to accept Pastor Albert and Mrs. Dorothy Martin as associate members of our congregation. Associate membership entails that because of extraordinary circumstances some may not be able to become full members, yet wish to gather with the congregation and partake of the sacraments among us. We have done so in the past with a number of our seminary families. Please take the opportunity to welcome Pastor and Mrs. Martin. We pray that God would bless them among us and continue to make them a blessing. In reflecting on what the Lord has made possible through evangelism efforts of our members, the consistory has decided to recommend to your support the Fellowship Chapel, a neighborhood mission outreach ministry at 226 Leonard Street NE headed up by Mr. Dave Winters. For many years already, a number from our congregation have been closely involved with this ministry, teaching Sunday School, helping with jail ministry and the like. We commend Mark and Joan Arnoudse, Tom and Marlene VanderBand, Jack and Carol VanderGraaf, Karen VanderSloot, and others for their steady involvement. The deacons are planning to add this important work to our list of organizations that we take collections for in the future.
