COOKIES N SANTA FINALE AT FISHERS TOWN HALL Fishers Tri-Kappa Philanthropic Group Sends 22 Year-Old Event Out With A Bang
FISHERS, INDIANA -- Cookies n Santa, a fun-filled event, celebrates its final season on Saturday, December 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Fishers Town Hall. Hosted by Fishers Tri-Kappa, Cookies n Santa features a wide selection of beautifully decorated homemade cookies, personalized visits with Santa and a variety of top-notch local entertainment. The women of Tri-Kappa bake and artfully decorate thousands of cookies. Attending Cookies n Santa is like being at the North Pole, only in Fishers, Sue Flockenhaus, Fishers Tri-Kappa Cookies n Santa Chairwomen said. Imagine filling your very own box with an unbelievable array of delicious cookies, all homemade of course, and letting your little ones visit Santa without the hefty crowds at the malls. Every year, the 55 members of Tri-Kappa work diligently to make Cookies n Santa a spectacular, heartwarming experience. Most members bake about 17 dozen cookies each, in which case ten dozen are frosted/decorated, while the remaining seven dozen include varieties such as chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, or jam thumbprints. For the frosted version, members are provided a basic sugar cookie recipe, and then add their individual artistic flair when it comes to frosting and decorating their cookies. The women of Fishers Tri-Kappa follow one rule in their cookie baking, everything must be homemade. To compliment Cookies n Santa guests holiday filled afternoon, Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause will be in attendance to hear Christmas lists and pose for photos. This year concludes the Cookies n Santa event for Fishers Tri-Kappa as their venue, Fishers Town Hall, undergoes renovations. Cookies n Santa has been such a pivotal part of Fishers Tri-Kappas growth and involvement in the community, Flockenhaus adds. As the Fishers Town Hall undergoes renovations as should we, Fishers Tri-Kappa plans to build new traditions and equally exciting events this upcoming year. We are honored for Cookies n Santa to be in the hearts of the community and appreciate all of the support over the years. Proceeds from these events go to college scholarships for high school seniors living in the HSE school district, local library donations, Third Phase, Riley Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, YMCA, helping families pay their heating bill or other utility, providing Christmas for a family, and other charities. Kappa Kappa Kappa (Tri-Kappa) is an Indiana based Philanthropic Sorority that is 110 years old. This particular chapter in Fishers (Eta Iota) is one of the youngest in the state, celebrating 22 years in February 2013. Visit www.trikappa.org for more information. ###
