Queen Elizabeth Parent Council Minutes:

September 24, 20102 6:15 7:30 p.m. 1. Chairs Report a. Parent Council Positions Nominations i. Chair Jordan Kennie, has stepped down from this position. The Parent Council thanks Jordan for her hard work and commitment. New co-chairs are Cressida Barnabe and Catherine Ball. ii. Secretary Leigh Wahay has stepped down from this position. Linda Tranter has accepted role of secretary. iii. Treasurer role is to count money from fundraisers on the school grounds and to consult with Vicky Adrain, the Financial Assistant. Andrea Hammer has agreed to be treasurer. iv. Fundraising Project Leaders 1. Christmas Cards Margerite and Melaine Wheeler 2. Family Fall Race Leigh Wahay, and Shannon Baillon 3. Family Fest Anna Wheeler, Catherine Ball, Krista Mackler, and Nikole Green 4. T-Shirts Leigh Wahay 5. Magazines Nancy Sweetnam 6. Movie Nights Carrie Hopper November 16, 2012. Flier will have a statement regarding families are responsible for determining if the movie is appropriate for your children. 7. Family Picnic Jordan Kennie 8. Pancakes with Santa ? Mark Wheeler, Andrew Mackey, and Matt Barnabe 9. Christmas Trees December 8th from 12-4 p.m. and December 9th 12-4 p.m. Jordan Kennie and Cressida Barnabe b. Discussed frequency of meetings ie 2-3 per semester and then have more specific advisory committees which can report at the general council meeting. 2. Principals Report a. Playground Report Pamela Dolinki. a. Lori Cunniffe has volunteered to co-chair the Playground Committee.

b. Cost for the natural playground installed this summer cost $1200.00 with much support from the Wheeler family. c. Let them be Kids Grant very complex application and likely wouldnt receive grant as this has been given already in the community. d. Need for primary playground committee has agreed to do a natural playground this year with the funds which have already been raised from last year. e.
