Planning Your Science Essay


The properties of rare earth metals make them useful for society (us), but are they worth it?

Rare earth metals are important because if we didnt have them our technologies wouldnt have developed this far. It is very reactive and it tarnishes in airchemical element which has the symbol Nd and the atomic number 60. Neodymium is found in the Lanthanides group on the periodic table and Neodymium is never found in nature as its pure form. Its sources are ores such as monazite sands.
