EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM

A workplace emergency is an unforeseen situation that threatens the employees, customers, or the public; disrupts or shuts down the operations; or causes physical or environmental damage. Emergencies may be natural or manmade and include the following : Floods, Fires, Toxic gas releases, Chemical spills, Radiological accidents, Explosions, Civil disturbances, and Workplace violence resulting in bodily harm and trauma.

Alerting the Employees in Case Of Emergency


Alarms are distinctive and recognized by all employees whenever there is emergency after the sound of Alarm workers become alert.

Coordinators & evacuation wardens


Evacuation Wardens are that responsible persons who will lead and coordinate the emergency plan and procedures. Assessing the situation to determine whether an emergency exists requiring activation of emergency procedures Supervising all efforts in the area, including evacuating personnel Coordinating outside emergency services, such as medical aid and local fire departments, and ensuring that they are available and notified when necessary; and Directing the shutdown of plant operations when required.

Evacuation Routes & Exits


All the primary and secondary evacuation routes and exits are properly designated. Clearly marked and well lit Wide enough to accommodate the number of evacuating personnel Unobstructed and clear of debris at all times Unlikely to expose evacuating personnel to additional hazards.

Medical Assistance
The employees who has done first aid training will provide the first Aid to the injured persons. Medical personnel is accessible to provide advice and consultation in resolving health problems that occur in the workplace. We have established a relationship with a local ambulance service so transportation is readily available for emergencies.

Assembly areas and accountability


Following a site evacuation, all the employees and other evacuees should gather at a designated assembly area and account for each person to make sure everyone has been evacuated safely. Follow these guidelines: Designate assembly areas where people should gather after evacuating. Establish a head-count system for employees at the assembly area. The emergency operations coordinator should receive a list of the names and last-known locations of missing employees as soon as possible after arriving at the assembly area.

Emergency Information
All the employees have the evacuation maps and other related information which is necessary at the emergency time. Post evacuation maps are in strategic locations.

Emergency operations coordinator (EOC)


The emergency operations coordinator (EOC) is the person who serves as the main contact person for the company in an emergency. The EOC is responsible for making decisions and following the steps described in this emergency response plan. In the event of an emergency occurring within or affecting the worksite, the primary contact will serve as the EOC. If the primary contact is unable to fulfill the EOC duties, the secondary contact will take on this role.
