The Korean High School documentary film is a film created by a student named, Kelley Katzenmeyer, who is a talented nineteen-year-old American filmmaker and visual artist. She had departed the U.S. in order to find out how korean high school students live their lives. After attending one of the high schools in korea, she had found out that students had to study for roughly 16 hours a day. On top of that, she had also learned that korean students had to deal with the constant fear of being ridiculed for being ugly. It turns out that Korea has the highest rate of plastic surgery per capita, and a higher suicide rate than any other developed nation. In my clip, I want to focus on a male students point of view on suicides in Korea. I think this is the main idea that is driving the entire film and the thing Kelley is trying to prevent. I want to start the clip from when he starts speaking to after he finishes his first sentence in korean. I dont know. There are lots of options... So there is something is wrong.

WHAT dOES IT lOOK lIKE?

Style, Palette, Imagery, Analogy

I want to use a rough doodle and sketch style to achieve a juvenile look but also use sophisticated typography for contrast. I also want to use notes and doodles to further illustrate that were dealing with kids and not full grown adults.

WHAT dOES IT mOvE lIKE?

Animation, Camera, Edit, Analogy

There will be a lot of intricate, small animations happening on the side where the notes and doodles will take place. The bulk of the animation however, will be the revealing of the typography that illustrates what the voice is saying. There is going to be two or three main camera moves; each displaying a different surface. (desk, notebook, floor, chalkboard)

WHAT dOES IT SOund lIKE?

music, Sound design, mood, Tone

Along with the voice clip, I want to use a melancholic background music. Probably something off of Amiinas album, Kurr.
