My first day at SRM

As always, school life is pure and immaculate. When there are more rules and holds, it shows that we are cared for and protected more. In fact, we would have begrudged every new statute or idea from the school management; still, it is something special. The very first day: As for the evening before the first day I hardly had any emotins. It was Just another aimless evening. The first day was spent on introductions and welcoming when our parents had to accompany us. That evening I got lurches in my stomach- it was not Just another evening. That night, whenever I had to think of venturing all alone in SRM, I got an uncomfortable sensation in my tummy. It took me quite some time to fathom the mystery. To think that I would be stepping into a whole new world, leaving back all my friends was hard. Yes, it was guilt. A feeling of void came over me; Fourteen years in one school, different sets of friends in all the fourteen years, different teachers- To leave them all behind and step on made me feel arrogant. Uncertain as I felt, that night I decided not to think anymore of it. I went to bed. Technically speaking, this article is about the second day at SRM. Morning dawned. I went over to my friends house where my other friends dad was to pick us up and drop us at the bus stop. The journey in the car mounted anticipation. The three of us, fear struck, eyes rolled big stood apprehensively in the bus stop. In a few minutes, a big, yellow bus with the words SRM strewn right across it slowed down. We rushed to board it, but the bus just moved on. Panic caught us. Do you have to get in all the buses you see? a voice loomed from behind us. What were we?! How were we supposed to know there were many buses appointed via the same route. Smiling sheepishly, we waited and caught up with the right one. Phew! The next blunder was again associated with the bus. After about half an hours journey, the bus screeched to a stop inside the campus. The three of us got down and ambled our way slowly. In not even a few seconds, the bus veered past us, with our fellow first years in it. OMG! Well, SRM had two campuses set a kilometer apart. The routine was to drop the core department students in the main campus and go back to the new one. Now again! How were we supposed to know that? Well atleast there was an improvement then, that time, we laughed at our foolishness. We trudged all the way to the new campus. The rest of the day had nothing eventful- just orientation and many lectures. As for that evening, I made sure I called or messaged all my friends and cherished the conversions in my now-happy heart The general dogma is that: School friends do not last forever. Some contradict, that it does not apply to the current generation considering the modern telecommunication facilities. However, to be frank: It does apply. Stepping into a very new outlandish arena and trying to move ahead with the cheering crowd, makes remembering the past a task. A line from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, One does not forget people, but just that they forget to remember. As for me, I am striving to have some quite at times away from the cheering crowd in the arena and remembering the past. Hope they do it too. As a closing line, I would like to dedicate a small poem of Bilbo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, by J.R.R.Tolkien: The road goes ever on and on

Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone, And I must follow if I can, Pursing it with happy ( weary in LOTR) feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And wither then? I cannot say. Thanks for all your help and support. Do take care and stay in touch. P.S: Listen to Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. Strikes a chord, doesnt it? As for me, the butterflies have flown away but am waiting for my DJ to play my song. :)
