Day 9: Passover Exodus 12:1-39 Ornament: Lamb/Passover Door

Bible Story: Exodus 12:1-39 The Jesus Storybook Bible pages: 85-91 Discussion of how Jesus is our passover lamb Hide it in your Heart: Let my people go. (Exodus 9:1) And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt." (Exodus 12:13) Make note cards, print out, write on chalk board or say aloud Snack Idea: Make bug snacks using crackers, peanut butter, pretzels for legs, and raisins for eyes Activities: Discuss Egyptians & make Egyptian crafts: http://daniellesplace.com/html/egyptian_crafts.html Cut an empty egg carton so that there are 10 cups (instead of 12). Now, find lit- tle items to represent the 10 plagues and place in each of the 10 cups. For exam- ple, a red piece of paper for blood, plastic frog, fly, cow, Styrofoam ball for hail, etc. The kids may want to draw pictures to help them remember the plagues. (from www.missionarlington.org) As you are telling the story, open an umbrella to hide under to show the kids that God protected His people. They did not receive the plagues like the Egyptians did.
