De la Seora:
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The class is very excited about their upcoming program. On Tuesday during chapel time (9:00am) we will have a dress rehearsal. Please have your child dress up on Tuesday. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Then on Friday at 7:00pm we have the program. Please again have your child dress up. I also regret to inform you that we will not be doing the cookie fellowship time. We now have over 120 students in PreK-2 and then with families there is no space large enough inside to accommodate everyone comfortably. There will be no need to send cookies to school on that day. Your child should be at school on Friday at 6:40pm and then picked up in the room at the end. Looking forward to seeing you all then! Upcoming Events: Christmas Program, 9am Christmas Program, 7pm Scholastic orders due Christmas party

Bible: We finished our unit on Abraham

and Sarah. This fit in nicely with the theme of pilgrims for Thanksgiving time. We talked about their wanderings and then the many promises God gave to them.

Bible Memory: Luke 2:8-11

Due: 12/21

Math:
* Measuring with rulers and tapes * Feet and Inches * Telling Time to the Quarter-Hour

Language Arts:
Phonics Skill: l and s syllables Sight words: puedo, voy, ahora Language Concept: past tense, infinitive verbs Theme: Our theme this week was on growing and changing. Our main selection focused on different stages of life and what children could do then. We practiced past tense constructions and used those to say what children could or could not do.

Dec. 4 Dec. 7 Dec. 7 Dec. 21

REMINDERS: * Our class could use some more snacks. * I will be happy to keep any Scholastic orders as secret gifts for your child. Just let me know.

Spelling words come from the letter and syllable combinations we are studying for the week as well as sight words. This coming week will be b and n combinations. When children learn to read Spanish they focus on syllable chunks rather than separate letters. na (nah) ba (bah) ne (nay) be (bay) ni (nee) bi (bee) no (no) bo (boh) nu (new) bu (boo)

You can now find on my wiki a recording of me pronouncing the words to help your child practice spelling each one.

Spelling Words: nube (new bay) NOUN: cloud bota (boh - tah) NOUN: boot mano (mah - no) NOUN: hand bate (bah - tay) NOUN: (baseball) bat nido (nee - thoh) NOUN: nest Sight Words: va (bah) VERB: [he/she/it] goes van (bahn) VERB: [they] go dentro (den - troh) PREP: inside muy (moo/ee) ADV: very bien (bee - en) ADV: well, good
