Hi

My name is Abi, and I would love to be part of your BOLD program!

But in a sea of gung ho Google fans, what makes me di erent?

A huge part of who I am has been inuenced by where Ive been!

I dont really have a place I call home . . .

Places Ive traveled to

include:

India
here is w port This pass om! s Abi shes fr ays s

Kazakhstan

Singapore Holland Thailand Indonesia

Uzbekistan China Malaysia

Turkey

Kyrgyzstan

Pakistan

Lets take a look at a few of the adventures I had at those places!

Kazakhstan
I lived there for 3.5 years as a tiny tot.

I ate roadside shashlik (meat on a skewer) while squatting down just like the locals did, proclaiming, Im a Kazakh girl! This marked the start of my cultural identity crisis!

Look at those chubbalicious cheeks!

China
2009

During a week-long adventure to China, I taught English to college students and elementary school students in the Yunan Province. I also ate pig brains for the very rst time!

This kid with the cheeseball smile was one of the adorable kids I taught! He looks way too cool here in my friends sunglasses!

Thailand
2009

I lived in Bangkok for a month and used my time to teach local college students English. I became friends with them, and they taught me how to make Thai desserts!

This dessert is made up of mangoes, sticky rice, and coconut milk! Yummy!

India
2010

I went to the the rural outskirts near Chennai for a week and learned about how education had empowered the local community, especially the women who had traditionally married very young. I also played with young students, taught them how to make jewelry, and helped to construct a new school dormitory!

Arent their necklaces so cute? They worked pretty hard on those!

Although having a kaleidoscopic cultural identity can be confusing at times, I wouldnt have it any other way!

Through my travels, Ive come to realize Im like a chili padi, a tiny Southeast Asian pepper that packs a powerful, spicy punch.

Though I may be a petite, young woman, I believe I can make a powerful impact wherever I go.

I want to use what I have to empower others to continue to create change for the benet of their community!

There are many reasons why Id love to work for Google!

Here are 3 of them!

1) Google is diverse.

om all eople fr eeting p I love m sionate are pas f life who walks o t things! di eren l sorts of about al others ing from joy learn I en ing what discover ws and worldvie s them. ly drive unique

2) Google is innovative.

I thrive in envi ronments that let my creative jui ces run wild! I appreciate Goo gles emphasis on unleashing the power of imagination an d ideas to chan ge the world for th e better.

3) I want to learn more about marketing, advertising, and people operations.

kward r my Aw own fo Im kn at I ask ions th i Quest Ab ts your s, Wha e, such a peopl urself? bout yo te part a favori

I ask those question s because I have a huge curiosity abou t what makes people tick, and tha ts why Im so interested in those 3 areas. I want to understand and con nect with people.

I think our journey is about to end now, but I hope you had fun!

Hopefully well be able to see each other again sometime soon!

Im Feeling Lucky

You See
