One of the most pleasant parts of writing a report is that, it gives the opportunity to thank all those who have contributed to it. In doing the same I would like to express my sincere thanks for giving me this wonderful opportunity to have a look at the practical world of living. I would like to thank my guide Mr. G.b Sita Ram for his valuable support for guiding me in my project. I also take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to my Training Supervisor Mrs. Mohit khanna (sales Manager) without whom my project would not have been completed in satisfaction. I also thank all my seniors and friends for guiding me patiently.

CHAPTER 1 : INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction : 1.1.1 the topic of my project is training and development which is a part of human resource development. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Training and Development is any attempt to improve current or future employee performance by increasing an employees ability to perform through learning usually by changing the employees attitude or increasing his/her skills and knowledge. The need for training and development is determined by the employees performance deficiency, computed as follows:

Training & Development = Standard Performance Actual Performance They are providing 100 hours trainingto their advisors, who are newly recruited. They are also providing the product training to their advisors and Sales Managers, who are newly recruited. The 100 hours training is to be conducted at Net Bios Computer Academy whereas the product training is to be conducted at NIS SPARTA. The NIS SPARTA Institute has more than 150 batches and is trained over 3000 agents for most of the private insurance companies. This institute is approved by IDRA to train agents/advisors. Training and development encompasses three main activities: training, education, and development. Garavan, Costine, and Heraty, of the Irish Institute of Training and Development, note that these ideas are often considered to be synonymous. However, to practitioners, they encompass three separate, although interrelated, activities:

Training: This activity is both focused upon, and evaluated against, the job that an individual currently holds .

Education: This activity focuses upon the jobs that an individual may potentially hold in the future, and is evaluated against those jobs.

Development: This activity focuses upon the activities that the organization employing the individual, or that the individual is part of, may partake in the future, and is almost impossible to evaluate. The sponsors of training and development are senior managers. The clients of training and development are business planners. Line managers are responsible for coaching, resources, and performance. The participants are those who actually undergo the processes. The facilitators are Human Resource Management staff. And the providers are specialists in the field. Importance of training and development:
Optimum Utilization of Human Resources Training and Development helps in optimizing the utilization of human resource that further helps the

employee to achieve the organizational goals as well as their individual goals.

Development of Human Resources Training and Development helps to provide an opportunity and broad structure for the development of human resources technical and behavioral skills in an organization. It also helps the employees in attaining personal growth.

Development of

Training and Development helps in increasing the job knowledge and skills of employees at each level. It helps to expand the horizons of human intellect and an overall personality of the employees. Productivity Training and Development helps in increasing the productivity of the employees that helps theorganization further to achieve its long-term goal. Team spirit Training and Development helps in inculcating the sense of team work, team spirit, and inter-team collaborations. It helps in inculcating the zeal to learn within the employees. Organization Culture Training and Development helps to develop and improve the

organizational health culture and effectiveness. It helps in creating the learning culture within the organization. Organization Climate Training and Development helps building the positive perception and feeling about the organization. The employees get these feelings from leaders, subordinates, and peers. Quality Training and Development helps in improving upon the quality of work and work-life. Healthy work environment Training and Development helps in creating the healthy

working environment. It helps to build good employee, relationship so that individual goals aligns with organizational goal. Health and Safety Training and Development helps in improving the health and safety of the organization thus preventing obsolescence. Morale Training and Development helps in improving the morale of the work force. Image Training and Development helps in creating a better corporate image. Profitability Training and Development leads to improved profitability and more positive

attitudes towards profit orientation. Training and Development aids in organizational development i.e. Organization gets more

effective decision making and problem solving. It helps in understanding and carrying out organisational policies Training and Development helps in developing leadership skills, motivation, loyalty, better

attitudes, and other aspects that successful workers and managers usually display.

They are also providing career development plans, which will identify potential and create avenues for growth.

1.2 objectives of the study 1.2.1 To increase the performance of the employees of the company. 1.2.2 To make the employees aware about the training and development and how important is the training and development for their effective and efficient work 1.2.3 To handle the queries of the employees relating to the training and development.

1.3 Scope of the study 1.3.1 The time duration for my project is between june to july . 1.3.2 The geographical area is my organisation itself. 1.3.3 Collect the data of various programmes run by the company to increase the performance of the employees from the records in the systems of company on monthly basis. 1.3.4 To get their response about the training and development programmes run by the company by the medium of using Questionnaire.
