AT&T EXPANDS MOBILE INTERNET WIRELESS CAPACITY IN CAYUGA COUNTY

Additional Spectrum Expected to Improve Connectivity and Performance of Mobile Internet Data and Voice Connectivity
WEEDSPORT, N.Y., NOV., 8, 2012 Consumers and businesses in Cayuga County are expected to experience improved mobile Internet coverage and voice performance as a result of continued investment and innovation by AT&T. The company announced today that it has completed a key initiative in its ongoing efforts to enhance the wireless capacity and performance of its mobile Internet network in Weedsport, the New York State Thruway at exit 40 and along Route 34. The expansion of mobile broadband service in Cayuga County can only help my constituents and local businesses, who are working hard to rebuild the economy in our area, said Assemblyman Gary D. Finch. Access to the latest technologies via mobile broadband is critical for businesses and consumers to remain competitive, and I would like to thank AT&T for their positive investment in our community. The network enhancement adds new layers of frequency, also known as carriers, to cell sites in Cayuga County to more efficiently manage available spectrum and increase mobile broadband capacity. The expansion helps manage ever-growing demand for mobile Internet services by allocating more network resources for AT&Ts mobile Internet network.
