School
This term, I am taking 5 classes; 4 in the classroom (Greek, Christian Home, Introduction to Homiletics, and Letters of John) and 1 online (Old Testament History 2). I am also taking a lab called 'Interpretive Reading'. Needless to say, the workload this term has been heavy. But, I am thoroughly enjoying these classes and I'm learning not just the Bible, but also a variety of life and

ministry skills, such as how to live on a well-managed budget, how to file taxes, how to offer premarital counseling etc. I am really enjoying learning the Greek language, and I am seriously considering pursuing a language degree once I complete my studies at SIBI, and before entering into full-time ministry.
Alyssa's Wedding
If you remember, Alyssa, was one of my teammates in Mexico. A few weeks ago, I got to witness her wedding to a fine young man, Michael Thys. It was a surreal feeling to see one of my teammates getting married. 5 of the 7 members of my team in Mexico are now here in Lubbock, studying at SIBI: Dani, myself, Jeni, Nick, and Alyssa. Chris, who lives in Oklahoma, had come down for the wedding, so we had a nice little reunion. Michelle was the only one of the team that was missing she lives in Miami.

Fishing Trip
Every couple of months, the Sunset church of Christ organizes an outreach event called Fishing Trip. The event takes place over one evening, where church members and students of the school have dinner together, and then go out and do some form of outreach. Some handout school supplies to poor families, some visit people that can't attend church, while others visit the sick in hospital. It is a great ministry opportunity, and a lot of lives are blessed by it!

Thanksgiving Break
Dani and I drove to Valdosta, Georgia, to spend Thanksgiving break with her grandparents. While we were there, I also got to meet several family members on her mom's side of the family. I really enjoyed staying with them, and also getting to see a part of the US I'd never seen before. Paul, Dani's grandad, was a pilot in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war. I really enjoyed having conversations with him about his time in the Air Force for those of you that don't know, I have a huge passion for flying! Hazel, Dani's grandma, is a baker of wedding cakes. Again, for those of you who may not know...I love to bake, especially cakes! Needless to say, I had a thoroughly enjoyable Thanksgiving break!
