Making a header for your Word Press theme has never been easier, and is really quite simple. To make a header you will need to choose a Word Press theme that gives you the option to customize headers that can be uploaded from your hard-drive. You will also need to use Microsoft PowerPoint.
STEP 1)
Open Microsoft PowerPoint
This will allow you to create a header without the use of any other software.
STEP 2) CHANGE PAGE SIZE. You will need to change the page size to match the header that your Word Press Theme uses. Go to Design > Page Set Up > In Page Set Up you want to change the Width and Height of the Page to fit your header dimensions. You can get the dimensions for you header inside the Word Press Admin Panel. Under appearance, themes, header you should be able to find the dimensions for your theme. Change Width and Height to fit your dimensions.
STEP 3)
Add Your Text.
You will be adding the text that you want shown on your site. This will be the name of your website and any sub-title that you want to use as well as any other information that you want to add to the header.
STEP 4)
Add Special Text Features.
If you like you can add special effects and features to the text. To do this, choose the Text Style and Features menu. You can add WordArt Styles, Text Fill, Text Outline, etc. By using these features you can add 3-D Word Art or Angular Text, whatever you desire.
The styles and features are limited only to your imagination so go ahead and experiment with the options. Remember you can always use the undo feature if required.
The more time and effort you put into the text and features, the more unique and customary your header will be.
Instead of using text art to create your header, you can also insert images, or photos if you would prefer. This will also make your header stand out and add customization to your website and/or blog.

To add images to your Word Press header go to the Insert Menu.
Insert > Picture > Locate the image on your hard-drive > Upload image into the header file.
You can then customize the image to fit your needs.
STEP 5) Add PowerPoint Presentation Themes. This will allow you to add a unique custom design to the header.
A great thing about PowerPoint is that it has its built in presentation templates. These templates can be used to fit any page size you need, even a header. There are loads of templates to choose from, and they all can be changed to fit the color layout of your site.
Go to Design Menu> Choose theme presentation that matches your site.
As you can see, there are tons of themes to choose from and you can play around with the color schemes to customize them even further.
You may have to play around with the text to get it to fit right. Just drag the little white box in the center of the draw text box to move the text around.
STEP 6)
Save File as JPG.
In PowerPoint Go to File> Save As> Name the file and choose .jpg. When you are done, you will have a brand new, customized header for your Word Press site.
Once you are done making changes to the design theme and text, save the header as a .jpg file. You may want to save the file name as header.jpg.
STEP 7) Upload Header to Word Press. After you save your header.jpg file, the next thing to do is copy it into your Word Press Theme image folder.
Go to your site Word Press Admin> Appearance > Header or Options. Click browse > locate the header.jpg file you just created in PowerPoint and click on upload.
STEP 8) Crop and Publish Your Header to Word Press. You may be required to crop the header, if it is too big or too small to fit your Word Press Theme. If you are required to crop, Word Press will allow you to do this automatically once you have uploaded the header to your site.
Also, you may have to uncheck the box that says show header text with your image. Otherwise, the header text will may show on top of your header image. In that case, if you have created your own text on your header, you do not need to show header text as well.
This is the final step to customize your Word Press Header. After you crop and publish your new Word Press header will be published to your site. As you can see, using Microsoft PowerPoint to create Word Press headers is very simple. Not only can you customize the header to fit with your Word Press Theme, but you can also save it into various file formats to for other purposes as well. The ability to create a design for your website, blog, newsletter or other projects is endless. Now that you know this neat little trick, you will likely find dozens of ways to use it in the future.
