Fellowship award winner. Assisted with development of economic based conservation strategies for monarch butterflies and giant pandas. Assisted in developing strategies and analysis to enhance the reproductive success of various endangered species in captivity, including giant pandas and owl monkeys.
Summer 2000
Fellowship award winner. Extracted, isolated, purified, and identified previously unknown compounds in the plant Glechoma hederaceae, or Creeping Charlie. Tested such compounds for medically relevant cytotoxicity and antibacterial properties. Presented findings at a joint science conference between Hamilton College and Colgate University.
