TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:
Teaching children is an honor and a responsibility. It is my duty to give each student the opportunity to the best education possible. I satisfy this goal through being well versed in my areas of expertise, through understanding that all students learn differently and at their own pace, by creating partnerships with other faculty and through constructing challenging lessons. I strive to build in students the critical thinking and problem solving skills that are valued socially and academically.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
2006 to Present Ensemble Espaol Spanish Dance Theatre--Chicago, Illinois Company Dancer/Instructor Travel to schools providing cultural entertainment in the form of Spanish Dance and dance instruction to ethnically and socieo-economically diverse student populations. Address broad range of student needs and foster a positive learning environment. Design programs and curricula. Direct and organize student dance showcases for school events. 2010 Prosser Career Academy--Chicago, Illinois Student Teacher Implemented lesson plans and provided stable, productive classroom environment. Utilized creative strategies to maintain student interest. Promoted cooperative relationships with parents. Collaborated with teachers to develop and monitor IEPs. Created cross-curricular, thematic units, focused on development of both social skills and academic abilities. Provided instruction after class to students in need of assistance. Received commendation from teachers and principal for energy and enthusiasm. Successfully managed challenging situations while serving as a positive role model. Utilized technology during lessons, especially PowerPoint, to enhance learning experience.
