ENVIRONMENTAL SORBENTS AND TREATMENT

Roya provides high quality sorbents from Wildberry Environmental to treat and absorb a wide range of hydrocarbon spills. Roya is the exclusive representative of Wildberry in Libya. Our sorbents are oleophilic (oil-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repellent).

Natural organic sorbents: include peat moss, straw, hay, sawdust, ground corncobs, feathers, and other readily available carbon-based products. Organic sorbents can absorb between 3 and 15 times their weight in oil. Natural inorganic sorbents: consist of clay, perlite, vermiculite, glass wool, sand, or volcanic ash. They can absorb from 4 to 20 times their weight in oil. Inorganic sorbents, like organic sorbents, are inexpensive and readily available in large quantities. These types of sorbents are not used on the water's surface.

Bioremediation: We work with a method of bioremediation, which is transformation and not transportation. The cost of transformation is always lower and does not require specialized personnel or expensive equipment. Bioremediation is a new tool in dealing with hydrocarbon contaminants in this environmentally conscious world we live in.

Biorestoration: The restoring or bringing back to an original or near original state using living microorganisms. Nature has a built in check and balance system in everything it does. If there is too much or too little of something nature will use various life forms to try to re-establish a balance.

Biostimulation: The process of engineering or manipulating a site or surface to enhance the growth of existing or added microorganisms to do a desired function. Nature, in a short time will populate an area with micro-organisms to start a natural remediation process. Stimulation is used to speed up the remediation process. Biostimulation is the traditional approach. It is minimally effective because it relies on stimulating bacteria that are already in the soil.

Bioaugmentation: The adding of specific living forms to augment or help to reach the desired effect. Bioaugmentation is a recently perfected technology, surpassing all conventional methods. It uses large volumes of contaminant specific bacterial from outside the area to accomplish degradation. Bioaugmentation is much faster, more predictable and more cost effective than biostimulation because contaminant specific bacteria are introduced in quantities, which exceed the natural population levels of the resident bacteria. These microbes are placed where needed. Integrated products now exist which provide the microbes with all the nutrients necessary to assist the microbes to rapidly multiply and consume the hydrocarbon.

Gator products as a range of absorbents made from cotton lint and recycled cellulose: there are 3 products to allow handling of hydrocarbon spillage and 1 product allowing handling of acids. Typical applications are used for the following sectors: petro-chemical, civil engineering, transports, hospitals & abattoirs, manufacturing, metallurgy. OIL GATOR: is a chemically modified cellulosic fiber containing all the necessary ingredients (Nitrogen, Sulfur, and Phosphorous) to enhance biodegradation of hydrocarbons by indigenous bacteria.

FLOOR GATOR: is a premium oil absorbent made from 100 % recycled waste products. Floor Gator will absorb up to six times its own weight. Floor Gator will encapsulate, suppresses vapors and eliminate residue left over by other absorbents. Floor Gator can be reused until fully saturated.

CELL-U-SORB: is a 100 % cellulose absorbent produced from recycled raw materials. It is harmless to plant, animal and aquatic life. Cell-U-Sorb will selectively absorb hydrocarbons from water while absorbing trace amounts of water for a cleaner surface (less sheen). Once Cell-U-Sorb has encapsulated a hydrocarbon it will float indefinitely for easy removal.

ACID GATOR: will absorb, encapsulate, suppress vapors and begin neutralization of acids in one easy step. Application of Acid Gator will begin neutralization without splattering, allowing the safe addition of a final neutralization agent to reach the desired pH.

The team consists of environmental scientists, health and safety specialists, marine and legal experts, supported by associates from a wide range of specialist disciplines. We specialize in has conducted a wide variety of assignments including: Risk Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment: Whatever your existing operations or plans, we can advise on all health, safety and environmental issues and potential risks, we offer practical advice on the control of such risks.

Environmental baseline surveys: We conduct EBS before any operations or activities commence to provide a baseline description of environmental conditions against which interactions of the project with the environment can be assessed.
