PE 7813 TRANSIENT MULTIPHASE PRODUCTION DESIGN

Instructor: Office: Contact Inf.: Office Hours: Course Scope: Dr. Holden Zhang Drill Building 109, NC Phone: 631-5142, Email: hong-quan-zhang@utulsa.edu TTh 8:00 9:30am, KEP L119 A combination of theoretical modeling and design applications. Transient multiphase flow modeling techniques will be reviewed. Several flow assurance topics related to transient multiphase production will be discussed. The state-of-the-art transient multiphase flow simulator, OLGA*, will be introduced through workshops and will be used to complete home works and comprehensive design projects. Industrial practices of transient multiphase production design will be covered through special seminar given by expert from oil company. * OLGA is the market-leading simulator for transient multiphase flow of oil, water and gas in wells and pipelines with process equipment. With the increased focus on flow assurance, OLGA is being widely used by the industry to assure production and safeguard investments. OLGA is used for feasibility studies, design, operational analyses, online simulators, and modifications of facilities, procedures and controllers.
