Diocesan Vision Day

The Church of England is looking to find out how it can reach out with the Good News of Jesus in our country. Earlier this year, along with St Paul's, Brixton, we won a significant bid to help us learn how we can do this, especially on the estates of this country. We believe that we are going to play a really important part of the future health of Christianity in this country. How do we become a confident outward looking faith that connects with the lives of people? What lessons can be learnt from these various projects around the country? What should other churches replicate (and just as importantly do different)? We have a vision day with St Paul's Brixton and some others in the diocese looking at what the project is about; what our model is; what part we can all play; how we will be working with St Paul's, Brixton and then others to build Christ's Kingdom. We would love as many people as possible to come on the day 10am - 4pm on Saturday 12th January. Do let Sue or Nigel know if you can make it for this very important day. Will

Mission Updates
Toddler group Aims to start after half term on 26th Feb. In the meantime Jayne and Sue will be gathering resources, a team including a one or two from St Pauls, organising publicity and inviting local parents. Youth Street Pastoring There will be training given by a Christian who has expertise in detatched youth worker. He will be visiting us early in the new year to intoduce himself and to explain more. Two people from the cafe congregation have expressed a keen, heart felt interest and we hope to gather a few more, from either or both congregations. Coffee and conversation @ Foresters school The local school would like support to develop relationships with families for whom English is an additional language. Sue is exploring this further with people from both congregations who are advising her and have expressed an interest in getting involved in the new year Coffee @ MiX has already started, with Wendy meeting the same parent on both occasions. More publicity and parental awareness of the ministry are planned for January. We would like to encourage more people to step forward and get involved- any in particular tug at you? Have a chat to Sue, Jayne, Wendy or Nigel.
