Watch chefs from the Culinary Arts School display their chopping skills as they create fresh salsa in honor of National Salsa Month. BALTIMORE, MD Come celebrate the spicy month of May. The Herring Run Branch Library of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, in partnership with The Culinary Arts Institute, will host a salsa making workshop complete with chips for tasting. Join Mrs. Mary Brown from the Judy Center as she makes her special preschool salsa in honor of National Salsa Month. They always eat it all up. BALTIMORE, MD Come celebrate the spicy month of May. The Herring Run Branch Library of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, in partnership with The Judy Center, will host a salsa making preschool storytime complete with chips for munching and recipes to take home. Session 14 Project Program Title: The Spicy Month of May: Celebrating National Salsa Month Proposed by Karen Burdnell, kburdnel@prattlibrary.org, 410-396-0996 Location: Enoch Pratt Free Library, Herring Run Branch, 3801 Erdman Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21213, Program Goals: Nutritional presentation for two groups Target Audience: toddlers, school aged students, and tweens Enhancing the quality of life for children by showcasing nutritionally sound foods

Program Description/Date/Time: From the Garden to the Salsa Bowl (Ages 6 through 12) Monday, May 20, 2013 4:00 p. m. The presenters, students from the culinary school, will demonstrate how to make salsas using fresh ingredients and culinary dexterity. All salsas will be consumed by the audience and recipes for the salsas will be available. Easy, Quick and Yummy Good for You (Preschool) Thursday, May 23, 2013 10:30 a.m. Mary Brown of the Judy Center will demonstrate how to make yummy salsa from canned fruits and vegetable for the day care children and provide samples for the children to taste. Setting Up the Event/Program Implementation Obtain approval of branch manager Reserve meeting space Contact possible community partners Judy Center to reserve date for Mary Brown Stratford University for cooking school chefs/students to demonstrate

I did the demonstration for the school aged group. Mary Brown from the Judy Center did the Pre-school presentation. I would not do social networking in order to keep the audience manageable.
