I offer managerial services to a company committed to excellence, that looks for the leadership in its field.
My diverse interests have focused on making me a very effective INNOVATION MANAGER, PROJECT
COORDINATOR in Product Development, or CONSULTANT in my fields of expertise.
A CREATIVE MIND AND ATTITUDE: As well as offering knowledge services, I am a highly creative
individual, fond of technological and business problem-solving. (10)
COOPERATION. AFRICA: In 1997 I spent 6 months in Subsaharan Africa, carrying a building project. That
was a case where I had to do everything, from Architecture to accounting. I generated a lot of extra money
(the project was grossly overbudgeted for a rigorous management.). (11)
LANGUAGES and connections: I have (supposedly) an excellent english. The most relevant jobs in my
CV occurred, and were successful, for this reason (12). My (excellent, too) french is maybe stronger at
literary lexicon but not weaker on science and technology.
German: If hired by a german Company, I could get to speak German very fast. (13)
Italian: I am currently learning. (14)
Of course, fluent Catalan and (mother tongue) Spanish.
JOB STATUS:
I am available and willing to take a more-than-full-time job as INNOVATION DIRECTOR. (15)
I may as well be very happy to act as PROJECT MANAGER of an intensive product development activity,
with a time limit or not.
And I will indeed be interested, too, in any CONSULTANT arrangement.
Yours;
Xavier Nieto
(2) This has been the coordination as project manager of a good number of very big monumental sculptures, by top
American artists. In the picture, Roy Lichtenstein's piece, finished (under my responsability) for the Olympics, that
became emblematic of Barcelona. Check my CV for more detail.
(3) From 1976 to 1981, I had a very intense activity giving Solar Energy courses, and Energy Saving courses at the end
of that period. Check the oldest posts of my blog/bio:
http://creativepole.wordpress.com/
In the picture, a rudimentary Savonius Rotor, one of the two main types of vertical axis windmill (high power, low speed)
(4) A very large field itself. Passive Solar building is part of it. Check again my blog / bio.
(5) One of the most gratifying things I have done was giving at Elisava design school two courses on Car and
transportation Design (with an innovative bias to "ecological" transport). Ultralight structures was just one of the
components of that course, but one for which I keep having a strong interest because it is closer to my background as
an architect.
(6) Part of my ideas and my knowledge in the field of Venture Capital may be checked having a look at my thesis
proposal. You will find it at my blog/bio, on the right side.
(7) This project (Innoserver) includes several knowledge bases (for which I actually uploaded to this day a very small
part of the material I have on paper), on the methods and rules of Innovation, arbitration and Alternative
Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property and Patents, etc. You have a link at my blog/bio to acces it. You may
as well have access to it from the home page of the Architects Guild web site ( http://www.coac.net/ ), but this
way you will need an architect's password because it is inside the protected part of the site.
(8) A role very much needed by companies /// (9) A life-long interest, actually.
(10) I am of the sort who has too many ideas to put them in practice by myself. I am very often speculating with problem-
solving, technical, or with social or economic transcendence.
(11) Employers know that surviving to cooperation guarantees a resourceful, inventive and adaptive character in the
employee.
(12) And my english keeps improving because I am a very enthusiast reader of technology, and of course, economy and
business. At least, I regularly read The Economist or some equivalent.
(13) I have studied german through many years but lacked the opportunity to speak it
(14) And I might offer connections in northern Italy
(15) If your company doesn't have an innovation director, you need one very urgently. Indeed, highly empowered,
working at the top level, with permanent access to top management. An innovation director may carry different
responsabilities, from company reengineering (looking inside the organisation) to new product (or service) development
(actually looking outside the company). In any case, and whatever the company does, he shall be responsible for the
INTERNET expansion of the company. To accomplish that duty, he should be aware of the last trends in the web.
