General

Introduction
The purpose of this document is to provide the guideline for backup
procedures in Core Ericsson nodes.

1.2

CP Backup
1 Connect to CP mode.

2 Check backup information.
SYBFP:FILE;
3 - Passivate the automatic output of the small and large data dumps.

4 - Initiate the output of a system backup copy .
SYBUP:FILE;
5 Wait till following printout.

6 - Connect to AP mode.

7 Check the APG node you are connected.

8 - Check to make sure you are connected to the active node.
prcstate
9 - Insert Tape DAT in active node.

Transfer to TAPE (DAT )

Remote Desktop Connection (RDC)


1 Connect to Remote Desktop Connection
Start Programs Accessories Communications RDC
2 Select the Node (Type Node IP and select Connect)

3 Insert User and Password when asked


4 Open the Backup Tool

5 Inside Backup Utility select Backup

5.1 Select the check box Disk L: FMS DATA


CPFRELFSW2

5.2 Select 4mm DDS in Backup Destination


5.3 Select New in Backup Media or File Name
6 Select Start Backup
7 Change the Backup Description to an Internal Name Standard

8 Start Backup

Frequency
The CP Backup to DAT is recommended to be taken on weekly basis.

Rotate and update backup files


1 - Connect back to CP mode.
exit
2 - Update backup files in the First File Range (RELFSW2 to RELFSW0).

3 - Active the automatic output function for the small and large data dumps.

APG 40 Windows 2003

AP Backup
1 telnet to the node and then Connect to AP mode.
aploc;
2 Initiate backup of the APG40 system disks.
burbackup -o
3 Wait till Backup execution completed then Check backup
M:\Images\NodeA and M:\Images\NodeB
dir

2.2

Transfer to TAPE (DAT)


Remote Desktop Connection (RDC)
1 Connect to Remote Desktop Connection
Start Programs Accessories Communications RDC
2 Select the Node

3 Insert User and Password


4 Open the Backup Tool

5 Inside Backup Utility select Backup

5.1 Select the check box Disk M: Images Node A/B


Last Backup
5.2 Select 4mm DDS in Backup Destination
5.3 Select New in Backup Media or File Name

6 Select Start Backup


7 Change the Backup Description to an Internal Name Standard

8 Start Backup.

Frequency
The APG Backup to DAT is recommended to be taken in every 15 days.
