Designed in every scale for superior energy efficiency and performance

Demands for quality, efficiency and economy Basically every customer demands the security of a stable and efficient operation of the heating and cooling installation. To avoid low comfort periods in the building or downtime caused by maintenance and repair, the system installation has to be service friendly. A gasketed plate heat exchanger meets these requirements as an efficient and high-quality solution. Since large scale heat exchangers are extensive investments, the total economy of the system investment is of significant importance. It is necessary that the operating cost is minimized with high energy efficiency and expectancy of a long total system lifetime.

These demand conditions require superior performance of all parts of the system installation and high quality of all components. Your supplier must fulfil these demands. Danfoss XGC gasketed plate heat exchangers Danfoss XGC heat exchangers are designed for demanding temperature, pressure and flow conditions. Danfoss offers a very comprehensive range of efficient heat exchangers for applications in any scale. The heat exchangers are built on a module based concept. Frames, plates and connections can be combined to form a number of different exchanger types. By using different types of plates,

with different characteristics, the exchangers can be adapted to a wide variety of applications. The XGC heat exchangers can easily be dismantled for inspection, cleaning and maintenance. Another benefit of the XGC gasketed plate heat exchangers is that they can easily be expanded or adapted by adding or replacing plates when the conditions change. The product range is suited for applications requiring high energy efficiency like district cooling interchangers, district heating substations or cooling/ heating pressure breakers.

The XGC range offers: Tall and narrow types with long thermal length to achieve close temperature approach Compact types for general heating, HVAC and hot water systems Large flow systems Double wall types for separation of drinking water from heating or cooling water

we manage the challenges!

Double wall heat exchangers No risk of flow media contamination with double wall heat exchangers. The plates are welded together around the port holes in pairs. This design requires one additional plate per flow channel. In case a plate or gasket is leaking, the primary and secondary media will not be mixed. The leakage will also be visible from outside. The Heat exchangers are approved for drinking water.

Gasket Medium 1

Gasket Medium 2

Even if medium 1 should leak, it cannot mix with medium 2.

Gasketed heat exchangers for district cooling The district cooling systems with plate heat exchangers often replace traditional air-conditioning system in buildings. As the district cooling plant transfers cold water through the network to building and end-users, the district cooling system offers operating flexibility, lower operation costs and reduced start-up investment. Due to the increased heat exchanger surface required for efficient transfer of cold water into the cooling system, gasketed plate heat exchangers are typically the preferred choice.

Service and maintenance

efficient operation and reduced downtime

Dirt and scale can block your heat exchanger and cause unplanned downtime. Through a partnership agreement with a leading service provider, Danfoss offer service at customer site or in service centres located strategic places worldwide. If you have no time for servicing, a service engineer will attend your site to inspect the plate heat exchanger. The engineer will work out an individual action plan to fit your requirements,

carry out performance diagnostics, high pressure washing of plates while hanging in the frame, plate inspection, checking and replacing gaskets as needed and reassemble the unit. A fouled plate pack can be replaced with a spare plate pack to reduce the service time on the unit. The fouled plates will be carefully packed and shipped to the closest service centre.

At partner service centres, Danfoss can provide you the advanced service that cannot be performed on site. We offer high level competence together with advanced equipment to ensure comprehensive service. We clean the plates and put in new gaskets. Every plate is thoroughly inspected to locate any pinhole or cracks. After a final hydrostatic test they are packed and shipped back to your location.
