Research Assistant Opportunity

An energetic, dynamic, and knowledgeable person is required to fill the new installation Health Promotion Research Assistant position The HPRA is responsible for the day to day administrative support of the program as well as researching trends, statistics and collecting existing data necessary to track the impact of the HP program on the local installation. The HPRA supports the mission of Health Promotion Operations by developing mechanisms, strategies and protocols, and managing, coordinating and producing outputs that supports and invigorates the installation health promotion process. These activities directly respond to the health promotion strategic and operational plans as they relate to continuous quality improvement of the health of the installation. The project will involve developing research methodologies, collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, reporting, communicating and disseminating high quality data and information regarding installation characteristics, activities and operations. Either completion of a bachelors or equivalent work experience is required with associated research knowledge. Minimal travel is required. This is a contract position equivalent to a GS-7.

-Masters Level Position or Equivalent Working Experience -Administrative Experience (Program Development, Training, Supervision) -Public Health, Organizational Development or Related Background -Experience with Military Populations -Knowledge of DA Organizational Relationships and Ability to Integrate -Dynamic, People Oriented -Excellent Interpersonal Skills -Able to Lead by Example - Experience in Policy and Program Development and organizational Strategic Planning The HPO is responsible for coordinating and planning, organizing and implementing comprehensive health promotion and well being programs based on initiatives to enhance readiness for the Total Army. The elements of the health promotion program are governed by AR 600-63, Army Health Promotion, as well as Senior Commander priorities for the quality of life, resiliency and wellness. The HPO manages the implementation for the HP program, interprets guidelines, provides expertise and input for policy recommendations and coordinates with professionals from across programs and functions. The HPO is the subject matter expert on the process of implementing a holistic community health and well being program and is responsible for a variety of assignments/projects which cross functional and program lines of authority. An energetic, dynamic, and knowledgeable person is required to fill the Health Promotion Officer position. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive health promotion program for the community. This program is focused on identifying and integrating resource across medical, community, and tactical channels. This position requires strong communication skills, discretion, judgment, analytical ability and knowledge of administrative techniques/methods to include complex program and organizational process management. Must be able to effectively run meeting and briefings, facilitate working groups, and analyze data, and evaluate and monitor program and process evaluations. Either completion of a graduate degree or equivalent experience required. Minimal travel is required. This is an ORISE contract position equivalent to a GS-12.
