Datos biogrficos Burrhus Frederick Skinner nacio el 20 de marzo de 1904 en la ciudad de Suquehanna, Pensylvania. Su inters en la conducta animal y humana lo llevo a la facultad de Psicologa de Harvard donde recibi su doctorado en 1931, en 1936 fue invitado a ocupar un cargo acadmico en la Universidad de Minessota, donde permaneci nueve aos, y posteriormente en la Universidad de Indiana en la cual ejerci de profesor de 1945 a 1948. En 1948 vuelve a Harvard en donde permaneci hasta su muerte el 18 de agosto de 1990, a los 86 aos, debido a leucemia. Durante su carrera escribi aproximadamente 130 artculos en revistas, 24 libros, 42 captulos de libro y gran cantidad de publicaciones de otros tipos incluyendo artculos en peridicos y revistas populares. Recibi en vida una gran cantidad de honores y reconocimientos, entre estos: Premio a la contribucin cientfica Distinguida, recibido de la Asociacin Americana de Psicologa (APA) en 1958. Premio Internacional de la fundacin para el Retraso Mental Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. En 1971. Premio al Humanista del Ao, recibido de la Sociedad Humanista Americana en 1972.

Premio por Distinguidas contribuciones a la Educacin, Investigacin y Desarrollo, recibido de la Asociacin Americana de Investigacin educativa en 1978. La primera Mencin por Contribuciones Sobresalientes a la Psicologa durante toda una Vida, recibida de la Asociacin Psicolgica Americana (APA) en 1990.
