This pass is used to bounce around an opponent, or in tight positions. Over-Head Pass: The ball is overhead, like a soccer throw-in, and is used to mak e t ball strongly and quickly down the court. Skill Cues for a Shot: Feet shoulder width apart, knees are bent, and shooting a rm is bent to a 90 degree angle shoulder high with the elbow pointing towards the target. The shooting hand is tlat open like a server s hand , and the basketball is able to balance while the g uide hand is positioned on the side of the ball for support. This shot is usually made in high pressure moments, or trying to exe cute a quick play.

0 Lay-Up: When a shooter is on a fast break towards the basketball hoop and takes two steps while holding the ball towards the hoop and then proceeds to let the ball roll off their fingers tips and into the basket. This is considered a finesse shot.

During a screen the player must plant their feet and act as a stone wall. They cannot move with the person they are screening, or they may not push the person they are screening. Traveling: A penalty for walking with the basketball without properly dribbling Double-Dribble: A penalty for using two hands to dribble the ball with, or dribb ling on the floor, stopping your dribble, and then continuing to dribble again. Foul: A penalty called if a defensive or offensive person makes contact with ano ther person on the court that is in personal harm or intent to go after more then just the bask etball. For example reaching in and hitting the dribblers arm in an attempt to steal the basketball, or reaching over playersbacktoretrievearebound. Ifthepersonisfouledwhiledribblingtheyreceivetheba ll out of bounds. If a person is fouled while shooting they receive the points if t he basket is made, and will also be shooting foul shots. ~Technical Foul is given when a person uses excessive force or flagrant attitude towards an opponent or referee. The opposing team then receives the opportunity to send the

Fast, agile, and is the pers on to bring the ball down towards the basket in which their team is shooting at. Usually the bes t ball handler on a team. Shooting Guard: is the person that supports the point guard. Usually inbounds th e ball and is the best outside shooter on the team. Also shooting .guards are fast and agile, wi th good ball handling skills. Center: Usually is the tallest person on the team. Is the person that jumps at t he beginning of the game in an attempt to get the tirst possession. A centers area on the court is down

Small Forward: The role ofa small forward is to be physical and play down low on the side of the basket They attempt for as many rebounds as possible, and feed the ball to a guard for an outlet pass. Usually a strong competitor PowerForward: Apowerforward coversthe sameareaasasmallforward, andalso hasthe main role of catching rebounds. Power forwards also swing from one side of the c ourt to the ` shots if necessary. They also canplay a h'igh-post other side of the court and can make outside role, near the foul line for a jump shot or to penetrate to the basket for a lay -up.
