Organizational Experience
Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link Project in J&K under the Konkan Railway Corporation
Limited at Gunni Tunnel No.1 site. (July 2003 to Jan 2006)
- Project involved construction of BG Single Line Railway Tunnel.
Role Played
- Supervising the entire activities of the project starting from planning to execution.
- Resource Management & Budgetary Control
Manager (Civil)
Managed projects pertaining to Construction of Dam, Power Intake and Head Race Tunnel at Maneri
Bhali Hydroelectric (Stage II) Project (304 MW) of Uttaranchal Jal Vidyut Nigam.
2
Jaiprakash Industries Limited, Delhi Jul’96 to
Jul’03
Assignments Handled
Instrumentation Handled
- Load Cells for monitoring the behavior of rock bolts.
- Tape Convergence Studs for determining relative displacement of opposite measuring points
placed around the excavation perimeter.
- Single and Multiple Point Borehole Extensometer to measure displacement in the rocks mass
surrounding the excavation.
- Pezometers (Transducers) placed behind the shotcrete/concrete lining to measure the water
pressure.
Significant Accomplishments
In power House and transformer cavern’s support, the rock bolt of 32mm dia and 12m long with
expansion shell and cement grouted were installed but not passed for the load test up to 42 MT. I
supervised the whole installation method for rock bolt and guide them up to full satisfaction of
client i.e.NHPC.
Project Handled
Vishnu Prayag Hydroelectric Project (400MW) Joshimath in Uttaranchal
Role Played
- Responsible for geological & geotechnical mapping, 3-D logging of tunnels, RQD values
determination, behavior and pattern of Joint sett, Q-assessment, wedge analysis for the design of
tunnels support system.
- Core logging for analyzing the subsurface condition, Q assessments, joint nature water seepage
conditions.
- Analyzing the slope stability for safety factor of surface excavation in hard rocks and overburden to
prevent land slides/rocks falls.
- Surface mapping for selection of Dam site.
- Conducting detailed study for Catchment and Reservoir.
- Interpreting Hydrological Data, Site selection for sediment observations, sampling of contact and
suspended load, sieve analysis measurement of flow velocity and levels, preparation of
Hydrographs, etc.
- Interpretation of meteorological data including rains falls, humidity and temperature records.
- Involved in studies of geomorphic process evaluating the terrain.
Significant Accomplishments
3
Pivotal role in diverting the route of H.R.T by taking out the route from high stress zone, resulting 210
meter length shortening and finally saved huge money.
Project Handled:
Dulhisti Hydroelectric Project, Kishtwar, Distt Doda (J&K) 390MW
Role Played
Responsible for analyzing the Geotechnical for TBM Tunneling Methods.
Project Handled:
Nathpa Jakhari Hydroelectric Project (1500MW), Himachal Pradesh
Role Played
- Geological & Geo-technical mapping, 3-D logging of tunnels, RQD values determination,
behavior and pattern of Joint sett, Q-assessment, wedge analysis for the design of tunnels
support system.
- RMR, Drilling and Blasting pattern, Rock Bolting and pull out tests, Uniaxial and Triaxial
compressive strength of rock samples.
- Core logging for different type of interpretation for different purposes, i.e. subsurface condition,
Permeability tests, joint nature water seepage conditions, etc. for tunnel support design.
