Dating
Through dating, people would get to know more about the person they are interested more about the person they are interested in. This leads to mate selection, which is the second and more substantive phase. Establishes the paired relationship. Prepare you for the responsibilities of establishing your own family.

FACTORS THAT LEAD TO DATING:


1.Homogamy - is the existence of similar or shared traits among members of a group. 2.Physical Proximity - is the physical closeness of individuals in terms of their place of residence, employment, and recreation. 3.Complimentary needs - are the needs of a potential mate that are different from the needs of the partner. 4.Compatible Needs - are the needs of a potential mate that are the same as the needs of the partner. 5.Parental Image - refers to the characteristics of a potential mate that remind a person of the traits of his or her parents of the opposite sex.

Stages of Dating
1.The Marketing Stage The earliest stage of dating. One starts to construct an ideal image of oneself which one wants to show or transmit to anotherperson. Shows that one is possibly infatuated with the person. 2.TheSharing Stage Exhibited through the willingness of both person to explore the underlying belief systems which can support the latter part of the relationship as compatibility arises. There are open and honest discussion and verbal exchanges of discussion and verbal exchanges of valuable ideas and information. Infatuation is lessened as therelationship deepens.

Courtship
