Jesus Born Under the Law

January 13 -January 19, 2013

Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions, and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will have their Picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in the newsletter.

Jesus was born as a Jew. He obeyed and followed every law without ever sinning. This made Him the perfect Jew; the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

I Jn. 3:4, Everyone who sins breaks the Law, in fact, sin is lawlessness.

Father God, Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Apostles Ron and Hope. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed. In Jesus' name, Amen

Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father; I too may live a new life. Romans 6:4 For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son and if I believe in Him I shall not perish but will have everlasting life. John 3:16 I will enter His gates with thanksgiving and I will come into His courts with praise. I will be thankful unto Him and I will bless His name. Psalm 100:4

When Moses led Gods people out of Egypt God gave the Jewish people a set of rules to live by called The Ten Commandments. For the Jews, these laws guided their lives. They were Gods chosen people, and the only ones God had given specific instructions to follow. According to Gods Laws, the soul that sins or breaks the Law must die. Over 300 years later, Jesus was born under these laws and He never broke one law in His life. Jesus completely fulfilled the terms of the contract, or Law. That is why He is qualified to be the Messiah, or the one who can set Israel free from their sins. Because Jesus satisfied the terms of the Law or contract, we now can have a new contract with God. Under the new contract Jesus puts a new heart in us when we believe in Him. He gives us the same power He used to overcome sin and death and have eternal life with Jesus Christ.
