The successful candidate will have had experience and successful impact in the provision and management of financial services. The main purpose of the role is to make the best use of resources through effective strategic financial planning: To be responsible for the efficient management of school funds and procurement of revenue through the provision of a comprehensive and accurate financial management service, while also fulfilling all regulatory and statutory requirements. The post holder will report directly to the Headteacher and ultimately the Governing body. The post holder will line manage a Finance Manager and Finance Clerk. The post-holder will need to have the knowledge, confidence, and skill to lead, influence and advise staff of all levels in matters of Finance; develop, introduce and oversee Finance strategy, policy and practice; in effect professionalise the Schools Finance function; and, at the same time, be comfortable with the wider, more general responsibilities incumbent on a senior member of staff in a collegiate organisation. The effective and efficient execution of this role must enable the teaching staff and the Senior Management Team to give the very best of what Stretford High School offers to children, by developing the school with detailed operational plans, while also fulfilling all regulatory and statutory requirements.
