From Our
PTA President
Dear Bailey Lake Families,
Happy New Year! On behalf of the Na-
tional PTA and our BLE PTA Board,
I would like to thank all the parents,
teachers, and staf who made 2012 a
truly remarkable year of learning,
enrichment, and fun for our children.
I hope that 2013 will become another
wonderful year to remember!
As always, December was a busy
month for all. Scholastic Book Fair
organized by Shelly Ferguson and
Kristin Liles turned in $12,251 in total
sales, exceeding last years numbers;
this qualifed our school for a bonus!
Our total profts are $7,700 in
Scholastic dollars to purchase books
for the media center. This is incredible!
Big thank you to them, all the
volunteers who managed to fnd time
in their busy schedules, and every fam-
ily that supported the Fair. Donuts with
Dad was a big hit as well, thanks to our
parents, Tracy Marshall, Andrea Beau-
champ, and Jenna Anderson. The $1
suggested donation brought in $365
to beneft our school. Of course, there
wouldnt be any festive holiday parties
the students enjoyed if it werent for
our homeroom parents!
You are really amazing!
January was of to a good start. With
the Refections contest results an-
nounced on Friday before the break,
all participating students returned to
school to have their pictures taken
and displayed together with their art
work on the main bulletin board. Being
in charge of this program, along with
Nina Brown, I would like to personally
express my gratitude to our outstand-
ing teachers, whose guidance resulted
in such a great quality and
quantity of the contest submissions.
I look forward to seeing how our
winners who advanced to the State of
Michigan level do in this competition!
Good luck to them!
As its become our annual tradition,
all Moms can come and enjoy some
cofee and donuts with their children
during Mornings with Mom on
January 24th or 25th at 8 a.m.
Hope to see you there!

The Magic
of a Moment
Congratulations to
winners and participants!

ent categories. 69 submis-
sions came from Primary
Division(K-2)and45from

an easy task. Judges took

of a great quality of many
entries, we would like to
award medals to all 1st -
4th place winners as well as
kindergartners as a sepa-
