Teleworking

1 Denition
Using the Teleworking (TW) feature, a GeoCENTREX subscriber (teleworker) is able to deal with incoming and outgoing communications while he is working away from his company. The teleworker can be contacted via the public directory number of his business telephone and, by applying the appropriate settings in the private exchange, via the companys internal directory. The public directory number of the business telephone is displayed on the external callers telephone. Private calls can be distinguished from business calls by using the MSN feature (refer to FRD). In the case of more than one GeoCENTREX group, the teleworker is able to log onto different directory numbers (MSN) which are assigned to different GeoCENTREX groups. With this arrangement, the teleworker is able to work for more than one company (customer), either one after another or simultaneously (refer to Access configurations). In the LOGOFF state, the subscriber can usually be contacted in his company as a PBX subscriber, GeoCENTREX subscriber or via the mailbox. 2 Mode of operation
The destination directory number for call forwarding is an internal GeoCENTREX directory number. Call forwarding to the teleworking location is handled in the same way as an internal GeoCENTREX call, using call charge registration and GeoCENTREX features. The subscriber is not able to change the directory number of the call forwarding facility himself; he can only activate/deactivate call forwarding by logging on and off. Teleworking subscriber If a subscriber is working away from his company, call forwarding is activated in the company network node. This call forwarding facility is activated as soon as the teleworker logs on (LOGON). The call forwarding data is administered and stored in a GeoCENTREX TW data table. Teleworking PBX subscriber For a Teleworking PBX subscriber, call forwarding must be activated in the private exchange as well as in the EWSD system if the teleworker is working away from his company. This is the only way he can receive internal and outside calls. Call forwarding in the EWSD is activated when the teleworker logs on. call forwarding for PBX must be activated in the private exchange (by a colleague or by the teleworker himself before he leaves his company). A status list is defined in order to route the call from the teleworkers PBX to his directory number outside the company. This list contains the internal extension number, the internal GeoCENTREX directory number of the teleworking location and the LOGON status for each teleworker.

Teleworking

If call forwarding is activated in the private exchange but the teleworker has not logged on, the calls can be routed to a mailbox or a substitute destination. This voice mail number is also recorded for each teleworker in the status list. An unoccupied line in the PBX is used for diverting calls to the directory number of the teleworker outside his company. The PBX is then free to receive other calls from calling and called subscribers. This means that no additional access lines for teleworkers are required in the company network node. Teleworker feature set As a GeoCENTREX subscriber, the teleworker is provided with a teleworker feature set. This teleworker feature set is also available after LOGOUT. Of the possible GeoCENTREX features, the teleworker is provided with a teleworker feature set (precongured). If required, the feature set can be administratively adapted (reduced/extended) to suit the needs of the teleworker. The feature set is administered in the network node assigned to the teleworker; it is completely independent of the feature set installed in the company network node at the teleworkers ofce workstation. GeoCENTREX group directory in the assigned network node The teleworker access line and the company access line belong to the same GeoCENTREX business group. As a result, the teleworker is able to contact his colleagues while he is away from his company (and vice-versa) as though he was actually on the company premises. The teleworker access line in the assigned network node can be configured without a (local) internal directory number, so that the internal directory does not have to be widely distributed. This means that an internal company directory number must be set up for the CLIP feature and for the LOGON process. The teleworkers business directory number in the company network node must also be a remote (network-wide) number. Two options are available for this purpose; only one of these options should be deployed for all the teleworkers in a company: Option 1: The access code for tie lines (for colleagues sharing a PBX) or the group access code is administered at the GeoCENTREX subscriber level. This access code is automatically placed in front of the directory number if the dialed number does not exist in the GeoCENTREX group directory numbering plan. In this way, all calls within the company are routed to the company network node, including calls which are directed to teleworkers in the same GeoCENTREX business group. It is possible to use either the public charge registration system or only a charging band for calls within GeoCENTREX. Option 2: All company access lines and internal directory numbers are congured in the directory of the local GeoCENTREX group as network-wide internal directory numbers or via the access code for inter-network dialing. It is possible to use either the public charge registration system or different charging bands for calls within GeoCENTREX.

Display of the company directory number If a teleworker calls a customer using a business MSN from outside the company, the company directory number of the teleworker is displayed to the customer (plus the extension number of the PBX or the internal directory number of the subscriber). The directory numbers which are displayed are administered at the GeoCENTREX subscriber level and are identical with the numbers used in order to identify the teleworker when he logs on. Capacity The number of teleworkers that can be connected (to the assigned network node) in relation to all the GeoCENTREX subscribers connected to the same network node is subject to certain restrictions (static, dynamic). Therefore a teleworker group (per company) may contain up to 4,096 teleworkers.

3 Subscriber controlled input

The feature can be administrated by subscriber controlled input. It can be formed from the symbols 5 , # and the service code (SC) with the digits 0 ... 9. The operator can specify the character strings for the access code. ----------------------X X ------------X ----DTMF ISDN Keypad X X ------------X ----Funct. -----------------------

Call charge registration is possible with: Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration Message Detail Recording (MDR) for GeoCENTREX Flat rate Charges for feature input and feature usage The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input (LOGON/LOGOFF) and feature usage (active call forwarding) are assigned to the subscriber. The following call charge registration is possible: Facility input by operator (FAIO) Facility input by subscriber (FAIS) Facility usage (FAU)

Call charges for connections Call to the teleworker The calling subscriber (customer) pays the charges for the call to the called subscriber (company extension). The forwarding subscriber (company) pays the charges for the call from the company access line to the teleworking location. The charges are recorded in the company network node. Calls from the teleworker (MSN) Charging is based on the MSN transmitted from the terminal. If no MSN or an invalid MSN is transmitted, e.g. by the analog terminal, the standard MSN/directory number is entered in the billing data record. The MSN entered in the data record is always the public directory number of the teleworking location. This can be the public business directory number or the public private directory number, regardless of the type of conversation (separate billing, either business or private). The charges for outgoing calls made by the teleworker from outside his company are recorded in his network node.

5 Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of user-friendly applications or MML commands. Feature authorization The network operator assigns authorization for the feature when requested by the subscriber.
