Making New Testament Baptist Church Your Church

Many in todays evangelical churches are regular attenders who, though considering themselves a part of the family, have chosen not to join the church. There are probably many reasons Christians dont join a church. Some just havent given it much thought. Others are still in the process of trying on the church to see if it fits. One of the most important activities for a born-again believer is church attendance. It is in church that a person will receive instruction and exhortation on how to live the joy-filled Christian life. For the most part, a persons Christianity will rise and fall with church attendance. The Bible is always the textbook used at New Testament Baptist Church, and you will find that born-again believers will learn many principles and concepts that will help guide them and help them to mature in the Lord. A church is a local group of called-out, baptized believers who assemble on a Scriptural basis for the carrying out of God's commands and commission, and for providing fellowship, encouragement, and Christian growth to God's people. It is vital that every Christian align himself with such a church, in order that he may participate in the two-fold ministry of being strengthened, and strengthening others. Church membership in the New Testament is both expected and normal for the born-again believer. From the book of Acts and the Epistles, it is apparent that there was an identifiable membership for each church. Although membership was not required by the state for incorporation purposes, the churches of New Testament times evidently knew who were added to them (Acts 2:46, 47; 4:4; 5:14; 17:2, 4; Colossians 4:9, 12). People may join the membership of the New Testament Baptist Church by getting saved, and afterwards being baptized by immersion at the New Testament Baptist Church. If you have already accepted Christ as your Saviour, you need to get baptized by immersion at our church. In some instances, people are already saved, baptized, and a member of another Bible-believing church. Members of other Bible-believing churches may transfer their letter of membership to our church. This is simply paperwork between the two sister churches. In the event that your church membership records are not available for a transfer of membership, our church can welcome you into our membership through a stament of faith. A statement of faith is a confession of your faith in Christ, and afterwards being baptized by immersion. Those desiring to join the membership of the New Testament Baptist Church should schedule a personal meeting with Pastor Fisher. Our Pastor will accommodate your schedule. He is willing to meet in your home, or at his office at the church. In this meeting, our Pastor will discuss the history, constitution, and vision of the church. If after this meeting, you feel led of the Lord to join the church, simply walk the aisle during the invitation of one of our Sundays services. You and your family will not have to speak publicly.
