Outcome
Technique
In this 3 month internship, the problem I face that is the thing I learned in college in barely enough to become a professional designer in this career. Not only the design skill but also lack of the communicate technique and presentation skill. These elements are important for a design in their future. Besides having Photoshop and Illustrator skill I also require to understanding other knowledge and skill such as HTML code, flash, professional video editing tool such as Adobe After Effect and Adobe Premier.

Technique & Skill

During this in this internship, I learned all kind of technique & knowledge in design career, especially some design software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe illustrator the software which been use in this career. Because of this internship, it help me explore the field of Adobe Photoshop and learn some useful skill such as path tracing to use for crop photo, make selection, and other usage. For Adobe Illustrator, It helps me to use this software in more effective way that I never see before. Not only the improvement of design skill and technique but also the experience in this design career. As a designer, the only job and duty is not just design what the client request to. We designer also need to think other issue to make the design look effective in the way to telling the message.

Shortcomings of Studies from School

The basic design software technique I learned from college such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other related design software has applied on the project during internship. Some shortcut key command and s hidden technique are quite useful in project and made my progress go faster than usual. Especial the outline tool and vector of Illustrator is most recommended to use in design to avoid resolution problem and more flexible than Photoshop. Besides that, the knowledge of typography and design element that learned in college is also being great help in this 3 month internship.

Area of Improvements
As a designer, the software we mostly use will be the Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Consider to the characteristic of my internship company, the company mostly receive job that related to packaging, brochure, restaurant menu, poster, photography and other job that have big relation with printing and publishing. Because of this, during this 3 month internship I have improve my Photoshop and Illustrator skill for packaging, poster and other project which related to printing. There are some special printing such emboss, UV light print, texture and more. For Photoshop, because the senior creative designer willing to teach me, now I knew how to crop a photo in effective way by using pen tool. Other technique of Photoshop I learned during internship is how to play with the layer and the way to use layer mask. Lastly, the most important thing I learned is never give up and willing to change and edit the design until it become perfect and satisfied.

Working Attitude
During this internship, I learned the correct working attitude is important from my boss and senior creative designer. We cannot refuse or reject any assignment or work from senior or boss just because we think that we dont have the ability to do. As a designer we all needed to try and challenge new things that we never done and experienced before. In that case, we will only improve and explore a new dimension of view in design career.

Communication
During this 3 month internship program, I communicate with my workmate by using mandarin. Even though there is no language problem to communicate, but I still talk less than usual because of the uncomfortable been in this environment. After that, I able to communicate with them easily since they are more friendly than I expect and make me have more courage and skill to communicate with other people too.
