No. 1002 The Unerring Lasso Vairocana Buddha Great Water Consecration Light Mantra, Fascicle one (From the Unerring Lasso Sutra, Fascicle twenty-eight) Translated by Amoghavajra.

om amogha vairochana maha pro mani padme jvala pravardaya hum.1 Vairochana tathagata, teaches the mother dharani seal samaya supernormal cognition dharma section. and this constitutes the first chapter. If there are in the past all ten evils2, the five heinous crimes3 and the four grave crimes4 and many offenses, as ash in this way they are gotten rid of. If there are sentient beings, that in accord to their situation can hear this great water consecration light mantra, two, three, or seven times in this way with their auditory faculty, they will then be able to remove all hindrances of harmful behavior. If all sentient beings have committed the ten evils, the five heinous crimes, and the four grave crimes and many offenses, just like the tiny particles that fill this world, at the disintegration of the body and end of ones life they will go through many evil migrations5. With this mantra empower some sand one-hundred and eight times. Scatter this in the cemetery above the corpse. If scattered on the grave, scatter it over all of the grave of the dead person. If in the hell realms, if in the hungry ghost realm, if in the Asura realm, if in the animal realm, with the All Unerring Tathagatas, Unerring Vairocana Tathgata's True Original Vow Great Water Consecration Light Mantra's supernormal cognition power, empower the sand with power. They should at that time then obtain radiance as well as a body free from all retribution for evil acts, abandoning the body of suffering, and abide in the western land of ultimate bliss, with lotus flowers that arise miraculously up to enlightenment from which you cannot again fall.6 Again there are sentient beings that continuously year after year are paralyzed yellow with sickness, vexation, suffering being punished by the full gamut. These people are sick from prior lives karmic retribution. In front of the sick person, for one, two or three days, every day, with a loud voice recite this mantra one thousand and eight times. Then the obstacles of karmic illness will be removed. If there are demons or troublesome spirits that cause one to loose their voice and then are unable to speak, hold this mantra, empowering the hand one hundred and eight times, then rub their head and face. With the hand place it over their heart and head, empowering them one thousand and eighty times. Then you will be able to remove their disease. Mahakala's psychic power creates sicknesses and also is able to govern the removal on them. If there are many spirits, and shadowy phantoms of sickness,

empower a five colored rope, binding it one hundred and eight times. It is then tied around the hips, arms and above the neck of the sick person. Then the sickness will be removed. If there are many fevers and sicknesses, empower a white rope binding it one hundred and eight times. Tie it around the head and neck as well as empowering their clothes, then the diseases are removed. If you empower Acorus gramineus grass one thousand and eighty times, hold it and take part in a debated discussion then you will win subduing the others. If with pepper taragarda scent, laurel scent, small cypress and yellow sandalwood, small cypress sap etc.. branches, making a water pill like a red date, empowering it one hundred thousand times, let it dry in the shade. Then if you suffer from all spirit sicknesses and various feverish sicknesses, or if from poison you loose your voice, you should by means of this medicine, grinding it to a soft and watery mixture, empower it one hundred and eight times. Put a dot on both eyes, the forehead and above the heart. You should wrathfully empower it, then you will remove the disease. The sickness causing spirits, if they do not leave, then you should refute them with the head of a Arajaka branch. If there are many venomous insects, snakes and scorpions stings, with the medicine smear it on the persons eyes to remove the diseases.7 Furthermore for the Dharma, with fresh hulled rice powder, bathe and put on monastic clothes. Then with the medicine ground to a soft watery mixture, empower it one hundred and eight times and put a dot with the hulled rice powder between the eyes. Rouse wrath and empower it one thousand and eighty times, then rise from your seat and inquire for all answers. With the desire to release them, empower white mustard seed water twenty one times, then scatter the hulled rice powder over them. Then use like the old way. If there are those of aristocratic characteristics that call upon you, with the medicine put a dot on each eye and go to see them, then the characteristic visitor will venerate you.
