Pages 1 to 3 of this installation instruction shows only the basic layout for front access cistern installation. Page 5 shows additional schematic layout for rear access installation options. Page 6 shows the basic layout for front access brick installation. The cistern and HyTronic actuator can be installed in several different positions. Conrm with the bathroom designer the required installation details or alternatively refer to product brochure. Provision for a sufciently sized removable service panel is strictly required. This removable panel has to provide full access to the service opening of the cistern. Also consider that the service personnel require sufcient room to perform maintenance through the service opening.

3 Flush pipe preparation
This procedure is only for the supplied black ush pipe bend and not for the ush pipe adaptor kit

Cut ush pipe bend to required length

Chamfer the inside edge of the cut.

Lubricate o-ring (lubricant supplied)

Push ush pipe over cistern spiggot. Allow for 2 cm clearance when ush pipe bend is adjusted to the required installation eight Hf . This will also provide for an additional 2 cm adjustment (up or down) if required later.

4 Flush pipe installation

Secure ush pipe bend with supplied bracket "A". Pipe to be held rmly but should still be moveable up or down if so required later.

For a longer ush pipe than the minimum length of 16 cm increase the 9 minimum distance of the 16-2 rail by the same amount. eg.: ush pipe 17 cm = rail distance 14 cm

6 Testing
Before the wall is closed cistern must be tested. 1. Open stop valve (Fig.1). 2. Fill cistern and install inner cover (Fig.2A). 3. Check water tightness. Insert protection plug into the ush bend opening and secure it with tape. Leave cistern under test (refer to standard) (Fig.3B). 4. Final water tightness test. Remove protection plug and empty the cistern completely. (lift ush valve) Insert protection plug and secure it with tape (Fig.4).

7 Fit tiling template

Wall sheeting and tiles shall be cut up to the edge of the tiling template.

9 Kee seal
The cistern is supplied with two different sized kee seals. The kee seal with an outside diameter of 6 cm seals ush pipe holes in the ceramic sized 5.3 cm to maximum 5.7cm. The kee seal with an outside diameter of 6.7 cm seals ush pipe holes in the ceramic sized 5.6 cm to maximum 6.2 cm.

Flush pipes
The cistern is supplied with a 18 cm long ush pipe for concealed installations. As an accessory longer ush pipes for in-duct installations are available. For installations with an exposed ush pipe there are also a variety of nishes and materials available. Enquire with your supplier.

Access plate
This installation requires an access plate. For product selection refer to product brochure.

10 Flush pipe adaptor kit
If the 224.383.00.1 is installed elevated and requires a longer ush pipe use the supplied Adaptor kit. To fabricate the required length see (Fig.A & B). The adaptor kit includes only the adaptor socket & spacer, the required 40mm DWV pipe & bend are not supplied. Note: With 40 mm DWV PVC pipe the supplied Geberit kee seals will seal 0.1 cm less than the maximum diameters stated on page 3 in section 10 of the 224.383.00.1 installation instructions. If the adaptor kit is used then the supplied black ush pipe bend and ush pipe are no longer required. Do not attempt to join these parts to PVC.

The 224.383.00.1 cistern allows for greater exibility in the positioning of cistern and HyTronic actuator. See following installation examples. Conrm with the bathroom designer the required installation details or alternatively refer to product brochure. Provision for a sufciently sized removable service panel is strictly required.
