is NOT MICHAEL the ARCHANGEL ~ BOB'S in a PICKLE

JEREMIAH FILMS have made videos exposing the heretical doctrines of several cults which set out to deceive Christians. The first time I ever heard of Jeremiah Films, was when a Seventh-day Adventist gleefully told me about a film they had produced which told many home truths about the Mormons. However, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and its false prophet Ellen G. White, are logical targets for the same treatment. Just like the Mormon Church which began just a few years before theirs, they too claim to be God's only Church for all time; they have a prophet who spoke with Jesus personally; they also have countless extra-biblical doctrines and writings which they imbue with divine authority. There are many other similarities between them, and also with numerous other cults which emerged in 19 th century America. Bob Pickle of course, objected to the content of this video, and began a campaign to address the issues through attempted contact with the makers of the film. Unfortunately, nobody who claimed responsibility for the content, or who had any useful understanding of Seventh-day Adventist doctrine and history, would speak with Mr Pickle. He was fobbed off and passed from pillar to post time after time by various people connected to the film; he was verbally abused and stonewalled. This is a disgrace; as he says, anyone who makes such a public documentary against a church and its false prophet ought to have the courage of their convictions, and be fully equipped to enter into civilised debate. They should certainly be gracious to all comers, since they believe they hold the higher ground. This would be an appropriate witness to those to whom the video is addressed. But Jeremiah Films' furtive avoidance of discussion of the many topics raised, is to be deplored. It is not as though they could not have found a great deal of Biblical evidence to support all the necessarily-brief treatment given to the many topics raised in the film. By their actions, they gave the impression that they have something to hide, or that their claims were spurious after all.

JESUS

Bob Pickle then addressed all the topics himself, in a book he wrote called Discern Fact From Fiction A Response to the Video: 'Seventh-day Adventism, The Spirit Behind the Church,' subtitled Answers to Questions Raised by: Mark Martin, Sydney Cleveland, Dale Ratzlaff, The White Lie and Others. The hard copy book can be purchased, or it can be read online at www.picklepublishing.com . One of the topics discussed in the film is Ellen White's false claim that Michael the archangel is Jesus Christ. She would have learned this theory before her career as a false prophet began, through her confessed deep admiration for the Apocryphal books. Beginning with her very first vision in 1844, she plagiarised many highlycontroversial elements from the Apocrypha and inserted them into her own books, bestowing divine authority upon them. It quickly got to the point that Seventh-day Adventists were incapable of discerning fact from fiction, as Bob Pickle only claims to do; if Ellen G. White wrote it, it bears the stamp of divine approval and can be quoted interchangeably with the Word of God. In fact, all SDA publications and preaching bear evidence of this practice. It is apparent that Adventists truly are unable to discern having crossed the line between God's Word and Ellen's words whether she gleaned these stolen phrases from poetry, apocrypha, secular authors, commentaries, religious fiction, political speeches, newspapers, personal letters, laughable scientific literature, historians, Roman Catholic authorities, Protestant authors, or whatever uninspired source. By the time it had received the Ellen G. White treatment and appeared under her byline, all was transfigured by the I was shown authority of the greatest prophet of them all. Due to their blinkered acceptance of everything Ellen G. White ever wrote as inspired scripture and Present Truth, Seventh-day Adventists are incapable of addressing issues from the perspective of genuine Bible exegesis. They use Ellen White to prove Ellen White, without perceiving the fatal conflict of interest. They do not go to the Word of God for final adjudication on any issue, but resort to rationalisation of their false prophet's dogma by claiming that she is being unfairly maligned while returning to dust below her Pillar of Baal, and therefore unable to defend her own good name; or by dredging up isolated evangelical Christians or historians who may coincidentally have had the same erroneous belief on a particular subject. Thus, they suppose, they have vindicated her errors. If all else fails, they will attack the Bible for its imagined mistakes, internal contradictions, inconsistencies, morally suspect authors, and of course their favourite go-to excuse, conditional prophecy, which covers every conceivable situation if some Word of God has not yet been fulfilled, then obviously it must have been conditional on the good behaviour of the Jews. Thus they elevate Ellen White's proclamations above God's Word, and in effect, blame God Himself when He disagrees with her.

BOB PICKLE SAID: His discussion of the video topic: #87: The idea that Michael the Archangel is Christ is heresy. So is the video calling Charles Spurgeon a heretic? Let the Lord Jesus Christ be for ever endeared to us . . . . He it is whose camp is round about them that fear Him; He is the true Michael whose foot is upon the dragon. All hail, Jesus! thou Angel of Jehovah's presence, to Thee this family offers its morning vows.Morning and Evening Daily Readings, p. 556. Michael will always fight; his holy soul is vexed with sin, and will not endure it. Jesus will always be the dragon's foe, and that not in a quiet sense, but actively, vigorously, with full determination to exterminate evil.Ibid. p. 673. Is the video calling the learned Baptist commentator, John Gill, a heretic? Commenting on Jude 9 he wrote: [p. 63] Yet Michael the archangel, &c.] By whom is meant, not a created angel, but an eternal one, the Lord Jesus Christ; as appears from his name Michael, which signifies, "who is as God": and who is as God, or like unto him, but the Son of God, who is equal with God? and from his character as the archangel, or Prince of angels, for Christ is the head of all principality and power; and from what is elsewhere said of Michael, as that he is the great Prince, and on the side of the people of God, and to have angels under him, and at his command, Dan. 10:21, 12:1; Rev. 12:7. So Philo the Jew {o} calls the most ancient Word, firstborn of God, the archangel . . . .Gill's Expositor and the Body of Divinity. Notice how Gill equated "archangel" with "Prince of angels." Indeed, archo is a Greek word that means "to rule," so "ruler of the angels" is an acceptable definition of "archangel." Commenting on Revelation 12:7, Gill wrote: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon: by whom is meant not a created angel, with whom his name does not agree, it signifying "who is as God"; nor does it appear that there is anyone created angel that presides over the rest, and has them at his command . . . .Ibid. Commenting on Daniel 12:1, he wrote: And at that time shall Michael stand up, &c.] The Archangel, who has all the angels of heaven under him, and at his command, the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ; who is as God, as the name signifies, truly and really God, and equal in nature, power, and glory, to his divine Father . . . .Ibid. Another writer of a popular commentary was Matthew Henry. Is the video calling him a heretic too? Daniel 12:1 Vs. 1-4: Michael signifies, "Who is like God," and his name, with the title of "the great Prince," points out the Divine SaviourConcise Commentary, p.

1128. Michael and his angels fight against the devil and his angels, who are defeated. (7-12) . . . . Revelation 12:7 Vs. 7-11: The attempts of the dragon proved unsuccessful against the church, and fatal to his own interests. The seat of this war was in heaven; in the church of Christ, the kingdom of heaven on earth. The parties were Christ, the great Angel of the covenant, and his faithful followers; and Satan and his instruments.Ibid., p. 1719. Is the video also calling the writer of the notes of the 1599 Geneva Bible a heretic? Even though God could by one angel destroy all the world, yet to assure his children of his love he sends forth double power, even Michael, that is, Christ Jesus the head of angels. note for Dan. 10:13. The angel here notes two things: first that the Church will be in great affliction and trouble at Christ's coming, and next that God will send his angel to deliver it, whom he here calls Michael, meaning Christ, who is proclaimed by the preaching of the Gospel.note for Dan. 12:1. There must be some reason why these great Bible students of old, as well as many others, felt that Michael was another name for Christ, the divine Son of God. We'll revisit this issue under #93 and #207 ff. Bob Pickle, A Response to the Video ...

One of the give-away clues that Seventh-day Adventists are on the wrong track about the identity of Michael the Archangel, is when in their rationalisations, they seek to justify Ellen White by comparing her with a panoply of orthodox authorities who made the same mistake, rather than exegeting the Bible texts in the quest for truth. The trouble in this instance is that the other authorities also failed to take their cue from the Word of God, but apparently copied each other in a romanticised description of the glory of Christ. We already know that Ellen G. White was perhaps the most prolific and commercially successful plagiarist this world has ever known. She said nothing original in her 100,000 published pages, but copied almost every word she wrote from hundreds of previouslypublished sources. In his defense of the SDA identification of Michael the archangel as Jesus Christ, Bob Pickle mocks those who disagree, taunting them with a list of respected Christian scholars who also took this line. He mentions four eminent evangelical Christians, and says there are many more who also believed that Michael was Jesus: 19th-century Baptist evangelist Charles Spurgeon learned Baptist commentator, John Gill

writer of a popular commentary, Matthew Henry the writer of the notes of the 1599 Geneva Bible This may well be true. All of us are susceptible to erroneous beliefs. We may have learned them from parents, churches, books, or simply made a false assumption through deficient bible study. In this case, numerous apocryphal books are responsible for the false idea that Michael the created archangel is Jesus Christ. However the remedy for ignorance is simple, and the failure to apply that remedy, is inexcusable. The difference between Ellen G. White believing in a false doctrine, and any other evangelist or commentator who should have known better, is that Ellen White invented a new religion based on her visions, and cursed to Hell everyone who rejected it. The commentators above were true Bible scholars and respected, educated men whose reputations were not subject to the scandal and controversy which plagued Ellen White. None of them preposterously claimed to be God's special messenger or to have had hundreds of private conversations with Jesus in the heavenly Holy of Holies; nor that their church was the only one in the world accepted by God for all eternity. It is regrettable that they made a mistake on this topic. They have no excuse for having made such a glib false statement. However their error in this instance, does not vindicate Ellen White's error in any case. This is a weak argument; that several other orthodox authorities believed the same false doctrine, thereby vindicating a false prophet. Ellen White, being uneducated but very ambitious, did not know better, but copied the opinions of every writer she came across, claiming that all this information came direct from God's throne through her to the world. This is the true meaning of heretic, which is Biblically used in the sense of a factious person or sectarian. Someone who creates division and party spirit. Ellen White surely was the supreme sectarian from way back in 1844 when, as a seventeen-year-old girl, she began making vicious and slanderous pronouncements against every Christian in the world who disagreed with her views and visions. Her spite and malice vented against every other church, recorded for posterity in her voluminous writings, set her church apart from all others in the world. EGW was never a Trinitarian. She never believed that Jesus was truly divine, that He was Himself Yahweh, the Almighty God who created the universe. No surprise that she was happy to call Jesus an archangel, a created being, inferior to God. WHO WAS MICHAEL the ARCHANGEL? ALL BIBLE REFERENCES to ARCHANGELS 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Jude 1:9 But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgement, but said, "The Lord rebuke you."

There are only 2 verses in the Bible which mention archangels. There are only 5 references in the Bible to the archangel Michael, which is insufficient reason to call him Jesus. In fact, the context of all these verses proves that Michael cannot be Jesus Christ. Pickle uses the meaning of the angel's name, Who is like God, as proof. How then does he explain the ten other men in scripture who were called Michael before the angel is mentioned? Surely to call people such a name would be blasphemous, if it meant, He is like God? The meaning of his name can be taken in the sense of the question, Who is like God? meaning, There is no-one who is like God, rather than He who is like God. ALL REFERENCES to MICHAEL the ANGEL Dan 10:13 "The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia ..." Dan 10:21 "But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince." Dan 12:1 "At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. Jude 1:9 But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgement, but said, "The Lord rebuke you." Rev 12:7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon.

3 of those 5 references to Michael are found in the book of Daniel. The 4th reference in Jude comes from an apocryphal source. The 5th reference is found in the book of Revelation. So it is logical that we turn to Daniel and Revelation to learn more about Michael's identity. The first thing we notice, in the first 3 verses, is that Daniel is being addressed by a man

who speaks of Michael in the third person. This man is described in detail, although his name is not given. However in the book of Revelation, the identical man is described and in that case, he is identified by name. This fact is admitted by Seventh-day Adventists when they are discussing Christophanies, the appearances of Jesus, in the Old Testament. However when they are dealing with the identity of Michael, they abandon this interpretation, and pretend that the man speaking to Daniel is the other mighty angel, Gabriel, who had been identified by name in previous chapters. WHO IS THE ANGEL GABRIEL? ALL BIBLE REFERENCES to the ANGEL GABRIEL Dan 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, and it called, "Gabriel, make this man understand the vision." Dan 9:21 While I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice. Luk 1:11 And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. Luk 1:12 And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. Luk 1:19 And the angel answered him, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. Luk 1:26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, Luk 1:27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. Luk 1:28 And he came to her and said, "Greetings, O favoured one, the Lord is with you!"

1. 3rd year of Babylonian King Belshazzar: In Daniel 8:16, a voice commands Gabriel to explain to Daniel, the vision of the Ram and the Goat which ends with the 2,300 evening-mornings. 2. 1st year of Darius the Mede: In Daniel 9:21, Daniel has another vision of Gabriel, who explains the prophecy of the 70 Weeks. 3. ~ 6 BC: The Announcement to Zechariah of the birth of John the Baptist.

4. The announcement to Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah Jesus. WHO WAS the MAN who SPOKE TO DANIEL? 3rd year of Persian King Cyrus: Daniel has a vision of a man who gives him a long, detailed prophecy of events concerning the Jewish people, covering hundreds of years. This man mentions Michael by name, 3 times. The SDA line here is that this man must be the angel Gabriel. Then

why was his name never mentioned here? The same man speaks in a lengthy discourse in Daniel 11:1-45 and to the end of Daniel 12. First, this man describes Michael as someone who contends by his side. This implies that Michael is the inferior of the man. Secondly, he identifies Michael as YOUR prince. That is, the prince of Daniel's people, the Jews. In the next verse, the man says that two years earlier, he stood up to strengthen and confirm Michael. Another clue that this man is superior to Michael. Dan 10:21 But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince. Dan 11:1 "And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him. In Daniel 12:1, at the end of the prophecy given by the man during Cyrus' 3 rd year, he again identifies Michael as the great prince who has charge of YOUR PEOPLE. This is very specific. Michael is the angelic prince in the spiritual world who defends the nation of ISRAEL. Previously, the man had said that the earthly kingdoms of Persia and Greece each had a spiritual prince who withstood him. We cannot draw dogmatic conclusions from these three references, but they do prove that there are spiritual entities influencing earthly nations in some way, which are at war with each other in the heavens. So the archangel Michael is the prince of the nation of Israel, and not of Christians. The Seventh-day Adventists are wrong here. Nowhere is Michael ever identified with any people other than the Jews. The final reference to Michael, again as the angel who protects the Jews, is in Revelation 12:7. The whole 12th chapter of Revelation deals with the Jewish people, from the birth of the Messiah, through His resurrection, and on to His victorious kingdom when He will rule the nations with a rod of iron. The Seventh-day Adventists, whose conceit compels them to claim all God's promises and blessings for themselves exclusively, while applying all Gods curses to the Jews and the despised churches, have so twisted this chapter, that they are blind to the certain identification of all the symbols within it. They teach that the Woman who gave birth to the male child, is the church, which of course is nonsense. How can the church, which is the body of Christ created through His atoning death, have given birth to Christ? The idea is absurd. It is as foolish and blasphemous as the Roman Catholic heresy of Mary being the Mother of God. Although they pretend to follow the truism that the Bible interprets itself, they actually twist scripture mercilessly to force it into compliance with their preconceived notions. Because of their strongly antisemitic bias, they avoid the true identification of the Woman of Revelation 12: Rev 12:1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

Gentiles ought to remember that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is a Hebrew book. It was written by Hebrews, about the religion of the God of the Hebrews Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It is about the King of the Jews, who graciously extended His gospel also to the nations, during a finite period of earth's history called the Times of the Gentiles. At the end of this time, there will be a short period known as The Time of Jacob's Trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), during which Jesus will defend His own people. His archangel Michael will lead the spiritual forces in the war against Satan whose goal is to destroy the nation of Israel. After this battle has been won, both on earth and in heaven, Jesus will come again to rule over the remnants of all nations from the city Jerusalem. Such is the story told in Revelation 12. This is proven by these words of Jacob, in response to his son Joseph's dream of the sun, the moon and 11 stars bowing down to him: Gen 37:10 But when he told it to his father and to his brothers, his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves to the ground before you?" This shows that Jacob clearly understood the symbolism of Joseph's prophetic dream the sun was Jacob; the moon was Rachel; and the 12 stars represented the 12 sons or tribes of Israel. Other scriptures refer to Rachel as the spiritual mother of the nation of Israel, although she was only one of the four mothers of Jacob's sons. She was the only woman whom Jacob had loved and chosen as his wife; the other three women were forced upon him, so to speak. Jer 31:15 Thus says the LORD: "A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more." Mat 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under Mat 2:17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: Mat 2:18 "A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be comforted, because they are no more." Here, the name Rachel is used as a euphemism for the whole house of Israel, whose infants were indiscriminately slaughtered in Satan's attempt to destroy the Messiah. The great red dragon who tried to kill the infant Jesus, is Satan: Rev 12:2 She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth. Rev 12:3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. Rev 12:4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth.

And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it. Therefore the Woman in Revelation, clothed with the sun (Jacob), with the moon at her feet (Rachel) and a crown of 12 stars (the 12 tribes of Israel) is truly the nation of Israel. It is she who gave birth to the male child, Jesus, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; Jesus who was caught up to God and His throne. We know that Jesus is the Head of the Church, and the Church is His body; the Church will also reign over the nations with Him (2 Tim 2:12). The Church, the body of the male child, will also be caught up to heaven to be with Jesus (1 Thes 4:17), thus completing the fulfilment of the prophecy. After this, the Woman flees into the wilderness where she is to be divinely protected for 1,260 days. Since this Woman is the nation of Israel, she cannot be a forgotten group of persecuted Christians in some mountainous region of mediaeval Europe, as pretended by SDA doctrine. As the Church has not yet been caught up to heaven (Rev 7:9-17), the Woman cannot yet have fled into the wilderness. Therefore Satan has not yet begun the heavenly war with Michael and his angels, and he has not yet been cast down to earth. However dire any situation may have been which has ever been claimed as the fulfilment of this prophecy, it does not begin to approach the horror of the true fulfilment still to come. Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. Rev 12:14 But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. Rev 12:15 The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood. Rev 12:16 But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. Rev 12:17 Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Satan has not yet begun to pursue the nation of Israel who has not yet had to flee into the wilderness. The Lord has not yet begun His miraculous protection of the nation of Israel during this Time of Jacob's Trouble. In fact, the one third of Israel who is prophesied to believe in their own Messiah Yeshua when they see Him whom they have pierced (Zech 12:10; 13:8,9), has not yet repented and believed in Him. However, this will surely be fulfilled. At that time of global persecution during the Great Tribulation immediately before Jesus returns, there will also be some people from many nations who will believe in the Jewish Messiah, and join themselves to the nation of Israel by keeping the commandments of God as well as testifying to their Messiah Jesus. It will be too late for anyone to be born again as a Christian at that time, for the Marriage of the Lamb will have taken place already; the door will be shut. (Matthew 25:10.) The pleading, convicting, indwelling Holy Spirit will have left this earth. (2 Thes 2:7.). The only true religion on earth at that time will be the reinstated Mosaic Covenant, which is prefigured in the previous chapter, Revelation 11. Elijah and Zechariah give many details of the restitution of the Mosaic Covenant in the rebuilt Temple in Israel during the 1,000-year reign of the King of the Jews, after He

destroys the kingdoms of the earth at the Battle of Armageddon. So for the Seventh-day Adventists to pronounce themselves exclusively those who keep the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus (Rev 12:7) based on their arbitrary choice to observe in altered fashion, just 10 commandments out of the 613 given only to the nation of Israel, is monstrous narcissism. These Gentile converts to the religion of the Old Covenant will be the other children of the Woman, who will also be persecuted by Satan; but Michael, the Prince of Daniel's people, will protect them all during the final half of the 70th Week of years / 3 literal years / time, times and half a time / 42 literal months / 1,260 24-hour days. This still does not mean that Michael is Jesus! Michael is an angel, a messenger, just one of the chief princes, which logically implies that there are other angels of the same rank. Michael is an angel who stands beside the man to carry out his orders. Likewise, Gabriel is an angel who stands in the presence of God. Who is theMAN seen by Daniel? The best way to identify him is to compare his description with that found in Revelation. The MAN clothed in LINEN:

The MAN clothed in a LONG ROBE:

Dan 10:4 On the 24 day of the first month, as I Rev 1:12 Then I turned to see the voice that was was standing on the bank of the great river (that speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven is, the Tigris) golden lampstands, Dan 10:5 I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. Rev 1:13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. Rev 1:14a The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. Dan 10:6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, Mat 17:2 [Jesus] was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. Rev 1:14b His eyes were like a flame of fire, Rev 1:15 his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. Rev 1:16 In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. Dan 10:8 So I was left alone and saw this great vision, and no strength was left in me. My Rev 1:17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead.

his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude.

radiant appearance was fearfully changed, and I retained no strength. Dan 10:9 Then I heard the sound of his words, and as I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in deep sleep with my face to the ground. Dan 10:10 And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. But he laid his right hand on me,

Dan 10:11 And he said to me, Saying, "O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the "Fear not, I am the first and the last, words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you." And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling. Rev 1:18 and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

The Man seen by Daniel gave him a long prophecy of many events affecting the Jewish people from his time down to the end of the age, when Daniel and the faithful Jews would be resurrected. This will occur after the shattering of the power of the Jews is ended.

The Son of Man, seen and identified here by John as Jesus, is identical to the Man seen by Daniel. He gave John a lengthy prophecy which spanned the entire future, from John's day until the resurrection and the vindication of the faithful souls in the nation of Israel; and beyond the 1,000-year earthly reign of Christ.

It is perfectly clear that Daniel and John both saw a vision of the same man. Gabriel was not described in the same detailed way that Daniel described the man. John, unlike Daniel, had known Jesus as a man on earth for several years. He had also seen Jesus transfigured on the mountain, when His heavenly glory and power was displayed in dazzling brilliance just as he witnessed in his vision. He knew what Jesus looked like. John tells us that it was Jesus who gave him the revelation for the churches. The son of man who is described in the vision, calls himself The Living One who died and came to life, and is alive for ever more. There is only one person to whom this can possibly apply there is no doubt that it was Jesus who appeared in His glory to John. Later, when John twice made the mistake of falling down at the feet of the angel who showed him the things that must come to pass shortly, he was reprimanded and told that he must not worship angels, but God alone. (Rev 19:9,10; 22:8,9.) Yet when both John and Daniel fell at the feet of the man, they were not reprimanded. So there can also be no doubt about the man seen by Daniel this was Jesus Himself. It was Jesus who said that Michael is one of the chief princes. Jesus said that Michael came to help Him. Jesus said that Michael is the prince who has charge of the nation of Israel. Jesus said that Michael contends by HIS side. It was Michael who was upheld and confirmed by Jesus. It is Michael who will stand up in the Last Days to defend the nation of Israel. Jesus referred to Michael as His subordinate, therefore Michael cannot be Jesus!

JUDE. Judes reference to Michael the archangel is taken from the apocryphal Assumption of Moses. Jude also quotes a passage from the Book of Enoch. Whether or not the Apocrypha was deemed canonical by the Jews of that time, it is not so considered now. It is wrong to take a fleeting mention of Michael in this small book of Jude, and expand it into the false doctrine that Ellen White made of it. Jude 1:9 But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgement, but said, "The Lord rebuke you." Ellen White had a very low view of angels, and indeed of Jesus, for she could conceive of Michael potentially stooping to blasphemy by making a judgement on Satan. Indeed, she often wrote in the most sympathetic and romantic terms of Satan, whose sympathy is undeserved by any true believer. Since she believed that Jesus had been created by God just as Lucifer originally was, she really did not see much difference between them. They were only different in that poor Satan had fallen away from God, while the other was chosen by God to implement His plan of salvation due to His continued obedience. She wrote how Jesus, approaching the Cross, doubted that His sacrifice would be worthwhile, and was fearful that He would be unable to go through with it. The fact that Seventh-day Adventists see nothing at all reprehensible in these false, humanistic teachings, is evidence of just how far from the truth of God, reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ, and comprehension of His Word, they really are. In those statements, it is Ellen White who pronounces blasphemous judgements. Those who know our Lord Jesus Christ, the Mighty God, the Living One who is from Eternity, Creator of heaven and earth could never make such blundering statements. By definition, Jesus can never blaspheme, since blasphemy is impious and irreverent speech against God. Can Jesus speak against Himself? By no means! Whatever Jesus says, is what God says. Jesus IS THE WORD OF GOD, made flesh. It is blasphemy to suggest that the Lord Jesus Christ is unauthorised to make judgements against the Devil. The Father has given all judgement to the Son. (John 5:22.) To say that it was Jesus who said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, is to rob Jesus of His divinity, Lordship and almighty power. JESUS IS LORD OF ALL. (Acts 10:36.) To imply that it would be presumptuous of Jesus to have judged Satan, is in itself a blasphemy. Thus we find that Jude referred to Michael just as all the other 4 references do as a created angel, powerful but subservient to the Lord Jesus Christ. The ANGEL of the LORD Seventh-day Adventists use several other scriptures in their attempt to make Michael Jesus. In doing this, they are not promoting Michael; rather they are demoting Jesus, which is a dire blasphemy. They equate all mentions of the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament, with Michael. They do this on no authority, for the Angel of the Lord is frequently said to be Yahweh

Himself; He is never called by the name Michael. Once when Manoah asked His name, He refused to give it. Judges 13:18 And the angel of the LORD said to him, "Why do you ask my name, seeing it is secret / remarkable / wonderful / marvellous?" The name Michael is not such a secret; many OT men were called Michael. Yet Daniel was told 3 times that the angel's name was Michael; again confirming that Michael was not the secret name of the Angel of the Lord who appeared to him, without identifying Himself by name. The specific term, The Angel of the LORD is mentioned 56 times in 52 verses of the Old Testament. Many times, this Angel is referred to as YHWH. There is no doubt that in every instance, this was Jesus revealing Himself to His people in the capacity of the Almighty God Yahweh. He demonstrated His power and glory in miraculous feats and fulfilled prophecies. A particular example is Genesis chapter 18, where 3 men appeared to Abraham and Sarah, to announce the birth of their son Isaac. One of these 3 men is identified as YHWH, the LORD, in verses 1, 10, 13, 14, 17, 19, 20, 22, 26, 33. Abraham calls Him ADONAI, the Lord, in verses 3, 27, 30, 31, 32. Abraham calls Him The Judge of all the earth in verse 25. Obviously, Jesus had appeared to Abraham, accompanied by two angels. These two angels are further described in Genesis chapter 19, when they continued on to rescue Lot in Sodom. They are referred to as both angels and men, and they themselves state that YHWH, the LORD, had sent them to destroy the city of Sodom. Verse 24 states The LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulphur and fire from the LORD out of heaven. Perhaps these two angels were Gabriel and Michael, who both stand beside Jesus or in the presence of God. But we are not told their names, so we must not presume, nor build a doctrine around it. The VOICE of the ARCHANGEL When Jesus returns to raise the dead and transform His saints into their glorious heavenly bodies, His arrival will be announced, as is fitting for such a propitious occasion. Mat 25:5 As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. Mat 25:6 But at midnight there was a cry, 'Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'" 1Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. The Seventh-day Adventists believe these verses prove that Michael the archangel is Jesus.

Their rationale is that, because the Lord Himself descends with the voice of an archangel, commanding the dead in Christ to rise and because Michael is the only angel who is called an archangel ergo, Jesus must be the archangel Michael. However this is not logical. The Lord Himself also descends with the sound of the trumpet. Does this make Jesus a trumpet? What nonsense. No more is Jesus the angel Michael simply because the archangel's voice announces that the Bridegroom has arrived, and commands the Bride to come out to meet Him. The word angel means, messenger. The angels accompany Jesus on this glorious mission, and their task is to announce the arrival of their Master Jesus with appropriate fanfare and cries of joyous command. This is the message that we have been so eagerly awaiting for almost 2,000 years. All 5 of the Bible references to the angel Michael form a perfect unity. Those who believe that Michael the archangel is Jesus Christ, have skimped on their Bible study, and should be ashamed of themselves. Those who build doctrines on this falsehood, which lead others astray, will be judged severely in Eternity, and must be rebuked sharply in the present by others who know the truth.

Titus 1:10-16 For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach. This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, not devoting themselves to Jewish myths and the commands of people who turn away from the truth. To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled. They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
