Finally the dream which everyone thought wouldnt

come true has finally been completed the monumental

task of creating this wonderful yearbook.

As you all know that this is our first year book and
much has happened and many things have changed .this
being so, a lot of work was put into making this yearbook,
being the first one made, we have tried to make the best
of it.

I would like to express the heartiest of thanks to all
those who made this possible by sacrificing their time,
trusting us and giving us hope that it can be done and not
forgetting everyone who in one way or the other encour-
aged .we also thank our teachers, non staffs for their care
and support ,matrons and some of the form4 of 2010 who
sacrificed their time to make it happen .the school secre-
tary and the school development manager for technical
support and most of all the yearbook committee which
spent a lot of time and faced many obstacles while mak-
ing this book and finally we get to enjoy reading this
yearbook
A wise man once said seeing is believing many
people thought we wouldnt make it but we have finally
finished what imagined and we hope it happens again in
the future we might have forgotten some important
events which are memorable in our school but since we
are humans like any other person we hope our next issue
will be outstanding.

Wishing everyone a good time while reading this year-
book

The above is the school sports MOTTO!!

Did we win the UMISETA?
Yes ,indeed yes. In football we were able to beat Kibao Secondary School 3-1 but the
victory didn't just end there, we were able to beat Mgololo 3-2 and we finalized the triumph by
beating Igowole 1-0 with our player Benvalla Mlowezi holding the highest record of assists in
the matches against players of other teams. Without forgetting our national representative Isaac
Mhabuka who went to Kibaha by showing outstanding football skills as a striker.

What about other sports?!
Well in Athletics we won a lot of titles where by in 100 meters race Harvey Kadyanji
was able to attain the second overall position in the zonal level and 2nd position in the re-
gional and Emmanuel Lufyagila was able to attain the 1st position in the regional level and
4th position I the Zonal level.
Not only that but also we were able to excel in 200 meters were by we were well repre-
sented by Michael Tibaijuka. The girls were not behind as Faith Shedafa (The American lady
as called by other students from other schools) was able to outshine other girls in the 200 me-
ters race as she became first in all races.

What about the other part of the MOTTO?
Well Brooke bond students managed to win not only in sports, but also in discipline,
trustworthy and were able to prove that they were not Blue Band students as other students
said but they were courageous ,energetic and talented were by students like Benvalla
Mlowezi, Isaac Mhabuka, Bensambo Mlowezi, Harvey Kadyanji and Khahelo Sigalla played
more than three sports which included Basketball, football, volleyball and athletics without
being tired .

Was the second part of the motto archived?
Yes in deed as at Mgololo and Igowole our students were able to offer assistance in
Mathematics and English subjects. Not only that but Malangali basketball team were invited at
school for training and were really astonished by the friendliness of the teachers, discipline of
the students and the school diet.
By Mr. Kaja Khairo

Thanks to Janet Sanders our school development manager for her tiresome assistance,
from financial resources to transportation services. But not forgetting our sports teacher, Mr.
Kaja Khairo for his assistance in the playgrounds to where we slept. Really he is our
GRAND PA !!
By the Umiseta students 2010
Life is always about sweat,
And sweat is never about sex,
Sex is there but meant for sometime later,
If no, then regression follows when its too late.

I once went to heaven,
I once saw the paradise,
The hotness in the paradise, made my feelings very emotive,
It was only for minutes, but costs years.

I thought I was right,
I thought maybe they were jealousy,
My mind told me that they never felt how the hotness was
But now, the hotness has turned to flames of lifetime fire.

I always dreamt of being a king,
A king in a big house surrounded by swimming pools and bottles of wines,
Oh! Poor me! Has GOD been fair, he turned my dreams to oxygen,
That passes without my vision but my body feels the good or the worst of it.

I am only a son of Jesus,
With only 16 years of age,
But someone calls me daddy,
And one else says husband, this is our child.

Hey! My dearest son,
Im sorry to tell you the fact,
That Im soon going to die,
For the mistake I did before this cry.

The killer had kissed me,
And left me in the world of ifunanya,
Money, love, massage was present at any time,
But Ive to pay, and that is by telling you bye bye!

My mother severally told me,
But I said youre stupid
For that she was an idiot,
Now the world is teaching me that she is never a fool!

Nobody is around for my blames
Not even my only parents,
My feelings and adolescence must carry my blames,
Neglecting is what I now have to pay.
I just cant imagine,
People at funeral,
Saying he is there because of AIDS,
And he left a wife and poor kids.

Yes, I do accept,
That we sometimes feel something for someone else,
Relax, do sports, have fun, so take off those evil feelings,
But dont you dare touch him/her because I did it and I regret.

Wake up my fellow youths,
Boyfriends and girlfriends are just like Bajaj and taxis,
Lets aim for division one,
And graduate with As and not AIDS!

Just have a picture, how good it is,
To be married a virgin,
See how bright youll be seen,
With no mistake, happily you live.

Im getting tired,
But my message, here you get,
Being a celebrity is possible,
But only if you struggle for the impossible to be possible!!

Many of the students who finish form four
normally do part time jobs but it depends with the
type of job and your abilities.

Well on my side it wasn t hard for me to find
a part time job as when I was in Brooke Bond, the
environment helped me a lot in developing my
computer skills. When I finished form four, I was
called at a local studio called Jam Vibe Records so
as I could create videos of the songs that were
recorded at that studio.

But not only that, but thanks to Brooke Bond
I have developed the required Language skills and
Math skills that have enabled me to create websites
and micro software. I am currently developing a
website for Kanyota company and for Jam Vibe
studio.

Brooke bond has helped me a lot in gaining
self confidence through debates and group discus-
sions held in the classroom especially when study-
ing Arts subjects.

Well, I can say I owe Brooke bond all the
success I currently have and I would suggest they
build an A-level school because there is no school
in Tanzania that has affordable fees and offers a
wide range of high quality services apart from
Brooke Bond.

Nursery teacher
Well, after I finished form four I was able to get
a temporary Job as a teacher in a local nursery
school where I was teaching Mathematics and
English language.

Brooke Bond helped me teach by helping
me in building my confidence through various
arguments, Conversations and discussions with
all people at school regardless their age and
status. This gave me courage and thoughts that
I can talk with anybody regardless of their sex,
age and status. This was the foundation that I
have attained thanks to Brooke Bond making
me able to manage and control a class, making
them listen to my instructions.

Also Brooke bond helped me in gaining
the ability to interact with the society that sur-
rounds me and taught me to be responsible to
my actions and life. Knowing who I am and
what I should do I got the desire of finding a
part time job that was more mentally oriented
than physically.

Thanks to the skills I obtained at Brooke
Bond School I was able to get the job at a cer-
tain local school here at Dar-es-Salaam.
The school was established as a
nursery school for helping the parents
who worked at Unilever company. The
primary section is composed of the pre-
school section and the primary school
section. It has day and boarding facilities
for students who study here. Also, there
are many well trained matrons who take
care of these kids effectively.
The students in the primary section
are very talented as they participate
effectively in cooking classes, traditional
dances and also in sports. In traditional
dances the students are famous in the
Mganda dance that is often performed in
many of the school events such as
graduation ceremonies, official visits and
any other important event.

In academics, the primary section has
had astonishing results throughout were as the
standard seven of the year 2010 have been
ranked 2nd in Iringa region. This is a very
good position for a school to attain and this is
the result of the efforts applied by the team of
professional teachers headed by Mr. Soko.

The General School Secretary
There is no jewel in this world compared to learning. No learn-
ing is as excellent as the knowledge obtained in school. Education is a
mile stone to the road of success and recognition in every field and
faculties. In the 21st century many things has changed such as the econ-
omy of the world, social life, culture and many more .All of these
things have advance from a poor stage to a better one. The causative
engine made all of these things possible is Education. The legend of
knowledge that is obtained from Education can be seen in many things
for example the world of communication and science. As the matter of
fact each country has its own language and other social systems which
cannot be in conjunction with other country. For instance knowledge of
the fields like in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are
universal, thus any one can study anywhere in this world with any
language can acquire knowledge which can make one to be useful
anywhere in this world for this knowledge is universal. Knowledge
from school which is education has generally made globalization
process possible that the world is now becoming as one village due to
various development change as in media, transportation,
communication, business, social interactions, culture interactions and
sports. Always better life comes from quality and excellent knowledge
found in general systems of quality education. The purpose that is
behind companies, business people, workers, farmers is to have a better
and high quality life. We seek the knowledge from school to help us
have the best of everything. In this world with different culture, tribe,
social systems, it is not possible to balance the interest of different
groups of people or nations without education. Without education eve-
rything done could have been futile. It is the fact and it will always
stand as the fact that there is no Jewel in the world compared to learn-
ing and No learning is as excellent as the knowledge obtained from
school. Education is the key to every closure and to every stumbling
blocks..

Delphine D. Pamba
Lets meet the current school secretary
who is in form four by the year 2011.

What are her thoughts about education.
Prayer is powerful and important, but how can my prayer be more powerful? Is
there a secret formula? Does God really answer?
Lets reflect back to one of the most quoted scientific study of prayers which
was done about August 1982 and May 1983 whereby 393 patients in San Francisco
General hospital coronary care unit participated in double blind study to assess the
therapeutic effects of intercessory prayer. All participants in the study including
patients, doctors and the conductors of the study themselves remained blind
through out the study. To guide bias against the study, the patient were not
contacted again after it was decided which group would not. It was assumed that
although the patient in the control group would not note that they are being prayed
for by the participants in the study, that other family members, friends etc would
likely pray for the health of at least some of the members of the control group.
There was no control over this factor. However at the end, the patient who had
received prayers as the part of the study were healthier than those who had not.
Now we see that the power of prayer is not the result of the person praying,
rather than the power resides in the God who is being prayed to ref. Bible verse 1
John 5; 14-15. The effectual fervent prayer is the one with power behind it, one
that produces results.
The Duke University Medical centre in Durham NC contented a prayer
study. This study had over 4000 participants over the age of 65. The study found
that the ones who pray and attend religious services on weekly basis especially
those between the age of 65 and 74 had lower blood pressure than their
counterparts who did not pray/ attend religious services. Did their prayers lower the
blood pressure? Dr. David B Larson also says that prayers can lower high blood
pressure, he states Faith brings a calm state which helps decrease nervousness
and anxiety with coping with day to day stress
The prayer of a righteousness man is powerful and effective. Man has divine
power to demolish strongholds such as arguments and every pretension that set
itself up against the knowledge of God. The stronger you are spiritually, energy
fields of consciousness, the closer you are to God and paradise of creation. All this
is the power of prayers.
God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers and moves in re-
sponse to prayers. THERE IS THE POWER IN PRAYERS.

By Florence Tesha (Form Four 2010)
Here we will look at live examples and researches done in
order to analyze and investigate the significance of prayers.

A dramatic rise of temperature
A delay of the rain season
Un-favorable conditions for growth of tea
The drying up of water sources: dams, springs
Torrential rain
Deforestation has brought about the today global climate change at a
certain percent in Mufindi. Trees are mainly cut down due to the fast grow-
ing business of timber whereby many business men and women come to har-
ness this product which is currently at high demand without replanting the
trees. This brings about a dramatic effect on the climate where as Mufindi
currently experiences unusual hot season with the temperature rising to about
25
o
C whereby 20 years before the temperature could go to negative values.
Brooke Bond School has had an outstanding
soccer results under a well trained Sports coach who
is also certified by the FIFA organization .

Here in Mufindi the school has developed
talents of many players whereby Isaac Mhabuka
making the news at school for the year 2010 when he
succeeded getting at the final stage of the tournament
at Kibaha.

Not only that but also players like Benvalla
Mlowezi, Elia Manoko, Isaac Mhabuka, Khahelo
Sigalla and Ezekia Mtelekesya have been called to
play for the local company teams due to their skills
and contribution in the field.
In Basketball we have had a great success
over a short period of time. Under our two teach-
ers Mr. Luhala and Mr. Kairo, the Basketball team
has had outstanding results in different matches.

The team only trained over a short period
of time but it was able to score the Unilever com-
pany team headed by strong figures such as Dr.
Mmbaga and Mr. Ikorongo who are really good
Basketball team players.

But not only that, they showed a stiffed
competition to Malangali who are the everyday
champions in the district only losing to a very few
points.

Also the Basketball team always advances
to the district level as there is no team that can
offer competition to the team
MY SWEAT DRANK BY MY OWN PARENTS!!

We have heard a lot of crimes being committed,
And a lot of shillings being eaten,
By our votes obsessing our administrative family.
Resigning is now seen as a toy,
To calm us, spongy dolls!
But our money-eaters,
Are still driven in Mercedes Benz with ACs
When we claim of our own money,
They say you don t know what cash is!
Who is then going to be fair to us, dwellers?
If our own parents drink our sweat?
If all these will go, that our pretending parents,
Depressing our currency, for their unsatisfied bellies,
Is our millennium G8 dream going to ever come true???

WHERE ARE WE HEADED?

MOST OF US SAY TIME HEALS BUT ACTUALY TIME KILLS IT RUINS OUR
NOMADIC WAYS OF LIVING BRINGING ABOUT NEW MODERN THINGS WHICH
SOME HOW HELP BUT IN OTHER HAND THEY IDOLIZE US.

Imagine how many people have been killed due to the discovery of booms if man hadn t dis-
covered nuclear power this world would have been a safe home.

Imagine if man hadn t discovered industry and the importance of raw material were would he
be now there could not be global warming and man if he would have never discovered money this cor-
rupt world filled with the desire of having wealth would have not been there.

If Tanzania lived the ideology of UJAMAA or brotherhood there wouldn t be classes or the
desire of having more than anyone else.

DEATH OF AN ORPHAN.

Each rain drop tripping on my skin,
Every step I make increase the pain of the sores on my
feet,
My stomach is rumbling like thunder in December,
It s empty like a can or a vacuum member,
My lips are dry like the cracks in the desert,
My eyes are wide, I am not weeping,
That s how ma life has always been,
Each morning is struggling, come sun it s hustling,
Hardships throughout, no hopes just trying.

My aids fatten my leader s belly,
Am like a criminal chased out the streets,
I ve turned a beggar for my own survival,
All my dreams have faded away,
Like a wind they have gone astray,
The wounds in my heart shall never heal,
Like a river never flows to, up hills
Pee pee, it s a lorry in front of me,
I was dreaming while I was crossing,
Survival isn t running and so am dying ..

When the form four projects started most of the form four just took it as any other homework
that we were just collecting data and writing it down in an acceptable format not knowing how
they will help us know the community problems. The case study was held at Mufindi.

Starting with Biology ,after the research they came to the conclusion that thanks to the
company the local community had knowledge about family planning through various posters,
seminars and contest. This helped the local people to know about the concepts and importance
of family planning.

The civics project learned a lot of on how government schools staying in rural areas are
affected. Many of the schools don t have enough facilities, not only that but the availability of
teachers is another issue as the ratio of teachers to students is not a good one. We learned how
hard is for many of the students to be selected to join form 5 such as many of them depend
solely on sports scholarships in order to archive their dreams.

The commercial project learned how entrepreneurs faced problems while running their
business in Mufindi due to low stock turnover and expenses they face. But also they met
people who had business success due to many sacrifices they made including not taking any
alcohol as most of the local people do.

The Geography project discovered some terrifying news about climate change affecting
Mufindi. It was noted that
The miss Brooke Bond beauty pageant was lastly conducted on
2006 whereby a girl called Alice Musseti won the title. Since
then the contest was not held again up to 2010 leading to a high
excitement among students.

It was held in the weekend where by the contest was opened by
the school development manager. The Miss Brooke Bond was
held together with the talent show.

The talents which were performed were singing, dancing ,
drawing whereby the candidates were required to draw a portrait
of the school development manger Ms. Janet Sanders.

The competition went well and the Judges who included Ms.
Sanders, a Unilever official and two prefects ended up with the
conclusion that the title of Ms. Brooke Bond should go to
Delphine Pamba whereby the first runner up was attained by
Esther Mabele and the second runner up was attained by
Marttha Chale.

It was a great day as finally the large event was over and every-
one started thinking about classes that where to be held after the
following day.

The best academic performer for the year 2010
Brooke Bond school is famous for its
outstanding academic achievement it has
had since it has been established. In the
Southern Zone it has maintained the first
position among the co-education schools
found in the region. Not only that but in
the form two exams it is always in top ten
where as the school has maintained the
sixth position for the past three years and
also it hasn t dropped from the top ten
best schools.
Biology subject Specimen
Apart from the form two results also the
school has had outstanding Form Four
National exams results whereby the
record breaking results were achieved by
the form four class of 2008 where by they
were the 3rd National wide in the Form
four results.

Not only that but also the school has once
produced one of the best ten students in
the form four exams who is now in
United States of America pursuing his
University studies.

The school is proud not to have a division
zero since it was established and it rarely
attains division three.

Also the school participates in many Academic competitions such as the Junior
Mathematics contest, BP Essay writing competition. Not only the school partici-
pates but also it usually wins many of the contest it participates. For example for
the year 2009 the school attained the 3rd position in Tanzania whereby one of the
students entered top ten. Also, in the BP Essay writing competition the student
representing the school attained the third position.

All this success is possible thanks to the well trained teaching staff headed by
Mr. T. Mwajombe whereby they always sacrifice their precious time in order to
teach the students but also finishing the curriculum in time.

Also thanks to the non-teaching staff who help in ensuring that the environment
helps the students to study without facing any problems.

In the year 2010 the sport that made the news was Soccer
and the above squad is the one which made a lot of noise.
Not only staying unbeaten in the UMISETA competitions
but also scoring various teams found around our school
such as Kibao Secondary School which was scored 3-1.

This success comes after a lot of efforts and exercises that
are done during Sports period and weekends so that the
sports activities should not interfere with the studies.

This year the team was able to capture the local peoples
attention because not only the team wins its matches but
also it plays a well organized and entertaining game such
that it is compared to the English soccer team known as
Arsenal because of how it plays.
The Brooke Bond Anthem project was originally an
experimental project about how to record a sound
and integrate it within some computer programs in
order to obtain a quality sound track. It originally
started as a joke as some started compositing
modern poems in order to see how the project will
work out. Eventually the song was successfully
recorded and performed to Mr. Bracken a senior
Unilever official.

Here comes the video, it was recorded in the
laundry room during one of the weekends with a
small Canon Digital Camera, a halogen lamp and
behind a blue screen. It took only a few hours to
complete the recording whereby only a few people
were participating the project. The video editing and
compositing was done by Harvey Kadyanji who
was also the one who introduced and implemented
the recording experiment. After no time the video
was completed but wasn t aired because it was more
of an experiment rather than a commercial project
also because we were still under the system of a
learning institution so it couldn t be wise to air it.

Although it has remained a local project but it has
helped the students in one way or the other because
the project applied many Physics and Literature
principles.
