1963

February 17th- Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born to Deloris and James Jordan in Brooklyn New York. Michael was the fourth of five children. 1975

The Dixie Youth Association named Michael Jordan "Mr. Baseball" among North Carolina's 12- year-olds. Michael was a really good Little League Baseball player. He played shortstop and pitcher. 1978

Michael was saddened when he did not make the varsity basketball team at Emsley A. Laney High School. He made the varsity team in his junior year and played as a senior. 1982

March 29th, Michael made himself known for the first time in the sports world when he led the Tar Heels to the NCAA title victory against Georgetown by scoring a jump shot with 17 seconds left on the clock. 1984

After his third season with the Tarheels, Michael was named Sporting News' Player of The Year for the second year in a row. Michael left high school in his junior year.

June: The Chicago Bulls picked up Jordan in the NBA draft. He was the third choice.

August: The summer before entering the pros, Michael Jordan co-captained the 1984 U.S. Olympic basketball team, which won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Jordan scored a total of 3,041 points, higher than any other guard and third highest in NBA history for a single season. He won the NBAs slam-dunk competition. Michael was named to the first All-NBA team. 1988

Michael was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the year. He was named to All-NBA first team and All-Defensive team. Jordan won a second slam-dunk championship.

Juanita and Michael's first son, Jeffrey, was born. Michael Jordan signed his second contract with the Chicago Bulls, for $25 million over eight years.

1990

January 26th, Jordan scored higher than former Bull Bob Love's record. Michael scored 31 points against Philadelphia. March 28th, in a victory for the Bulls over Cleveland, Michael scored 69 points and made 18 rebounds. 1991

June: Michael Jordan and the Bulls win their first NBA championship, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in five games. Michael was named Most Valuable Player in the finals. 1993

July 23rd, James Jordan, the father of Michael Jordan, was murdered in his car parked off a North Carolina road late at night, while resting. 1994

February 7th, Michael signed a free-agent contract with the Chicago White Sox. The next month he was assigned to the team's Double-A affiliate. 1995

March 19th, Michael resumes his NBA career, playing his first game with the Bulls against the Indiana Pacers. 1996

Michael led the Bulls to the top. The team finished a regular season with a

record-making 72-10, the best in the history of the NBA. The team took its fourth NBA championship by defeating Seattle in the finals.

November 15 , The live-action/cartoon Space Jam, Jordan's first Hollywood movie, was released. 1997

Michael Jordan is named one of the NBA's 50 greatest all-time players. June: The Bulls beat the Utah Jazz in the finals to win their fifth NBA title. November 30th, Jordan scored his 25,000th career point, on his last play in a game against the San Antonio spurs. 1998
