From the Pastors Desk: One of the best things we can do for ourselves and one another is to get up each day and ask ourselves: What good thing can I do today to help make someone elses life a little bit easier? It might be as simple as a phone call or it could be as time consuming as sitting at the hospital with the family of a friend who has had a heart attack. I believe we are all called to do good for each other in any way we can. Someone once said, The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. I like that; its a great reminder for us. There are a number of scriptures verses that show us that Jesus did good by teaching, healing, feeding, and comforting people. As followers, we are to do good as well. We are not to let persecution, selfishness, and busyness cause us to forget to do good and to share what we have with others (Hebrews 13:16). I think this poem is helpful in thinking about the importance of this idea: Deeds of Love Think not a smile can warm a heart And leave an afterglow? A word of kindness fosters hope Where dreams no longer grow? Think not a helping hand inspires A soul to try anew, Or words of love rekindle joy Where love no longer grew? Think so! Think so! Be still and know Lifes purpose - and Gods plan: To do for others, day by day, To be the best we can. For selfless deeds done from the heart Are blessed by God above, And those who care and truly share Shall know eternal love. By Vi B. ChevalierI I write this truly appreciating all of the good and kind people I have met here in Pittsford over the past eleven months. I find it truly amazing that when this month of February ends, I will have been with you for a year. May we all enter the season of Lent in 2013 sharing the power of Gods love with everyone we meet. Blessings, Pastor Pat

NO Salt The trustees are reminding us that using salt on the marble steps of the church damages the surface. They have placed plain sand and a non-sodium based ice melt in the church to be used on all walkways and the steps instead. Thank you for being aware of this throughout the winter months. Thanks, The Trustees

With the help of the congregations contributions during the Joyful Noise collection the first Sunday of each month, the children were able to purchase two sheep, a flock of chicks and a trio of rabbits through Heifer Project International. Thank you for all of your support. This year we are working on trying to give even more animals to those in need. Thanks, The Christian Education
