Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow :
Lal Bahadur was born on October 2nd, 1904 in an ordinary family known to be
Kayasth family at Mughal Sarai, U.P. His father Sharada Prasad Srivastava was first
a school teacher. For some years he worked in the Revenue department which was
famous for corruption. But Sharada Prasad, who belived in simplicity and honesty,
never accepted any bribe. Lal Bahadur inherited these qualities. His mother, Ram
Dulari was a noble lady, devoted to her family.
Lal Bahadurs childhood was spent is want and poverty. He lost his father while
he was just eighteen months old. So, his mother moved with him and his two sisters
Sundari Devi and Kaliasavathi to her fathers house seeking shelter.
Lal Bahadur started his school career in Mughal Sarai where he spent eight
years. He was known in the family as well as outside as Nanhe, meaning little one and
also as Gangaputra, meaning Son of Ganga. His school career was full of joy and his
classmates were very friendly.
