STATEMENT OF THE HYPOTHESIS

Since concepts are judged as true or false, they are propositions. Propositions that are formulated for empirical testing is a hypothesis. A hypothesis must be a declarative statement tentative in nature. It must be tested, explained, estimated, and measured. A hypothesis: o Provides direction to the study o Defines the coverage of the study o Suggest the appropriate research design o Determines the statistical tool to use o Serves as reference for stating conclusions It must be able to explain the facts involved and to deduce the original problem condition. It must be testable. It must be simple, requiring fewer conditions or assumptions. It must be null in form. (negative declarative statement)

SAMPLE STATEMENT OF THE HYPOTHESIS There is no significant relationship between the assessment of the respondent subscribers of the effectiveness of Globes Texters5 and their frequency of purchase of prepaid cards for summer, 2012.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Answer the following questions: o Why should the readers find time in reading your work? o Is your work really important? o Once your work is read, what improvement can it give to our lives? How can it help people? This part focuses on the recommendations.

SAMPLE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY Should the management of Vitarich Corporation implement or carry out a program of action exclusively meant for its workers, we can expect to boost the morale and efficiency of these workers. It is anticipated that they will improve their work both qualitatively and quantitatively. The company loyalty can even be established. With the workers achieving personal goals and helping achieve corporate goals, this company is sure to march on with greater heights and farther horizons in terms of productivity and profitability. Practitioners of other similar institutions may, likewise, implement this kind of employee program warranting on the same score their improved market status and position in the industry. Should an industrial boom be created as a result of these, there might be ease in the tax collection system of the government. This will surely lead the country to better economic growth and development so that the vision of administration towards globalization and people empowerment may be realized.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

Answer the following questions: o What is the range of your research paper? On what thing/s will it dwell on? o What are the limitations of your research paper? o Who are the respondents? How many are the respondents? o What type of research will you be working on? This part of your research paper contains two paragraphs. The first paragraph pertains to the scope of the study, while the second paragraph is all about its delimitation.

SAMPLE SCOPE AND DELIMITATION This study will look into the effectiveness of the working conditions prevailing in Vitarich Corporation along such areas as salaries and wages, benefits and incentives, opportunities for promotion, safety of the work areas, physical facilities of the plant, and superior-subordinate relationships. The study will further obtain information regarding the latest job performances of the respondent-factory workers. Statistics on these shall be used to correlate it to each of the sub-variables under study. This study is limited since only a descriptive-survey research will be conducted to 36 or 30 percent of the 120 factory workers only of Vitarich Corporation in Bocaue, Bulacan. A researcher-made questionnaire will be administered to the respondents who will be selected through random sampling. Data gathered shall be treated using the chi-square technique to determine the relationship or non-relationship existing between the independent and dependent variables of the study.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

The terms are mostly encountered during the part 1 of the research paper. Terms should be clearly defined in order not to mislead readers. There is no need to consult neither a dictionary nor the reference books for the definition of terms. They shall be defined in your own wordings. Arrange the terms alphabetically using the first letter of the first word as basis. (this portion of your research will look like a little dictionary.)

SAMPLE DEFINITION OF TERMS Clerical worker one who entertains claimants, types details of claims, files veterans records Little supervision refers to the provision of minimum amount of guidance and instructions Supervisors section or unit chiefs and assistants of subject institutions Very competent worker one who deserves special recognition resulting from exceeding normal expectations.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

This is a summary of three major groups of data gathered: o The items pertinent to the description of respondents o Highlight of the reactions of the respondents to the selected variables you studied o Summary of the relationships discovered between your variables

CONCLUSIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS

Conclusions

are

based

on

the

statistical

treatment of data. Usually, the terms used are in relevance of a significant relationship and no significant relationship. Conclusions are very useful in terms of formulating the recommendation/s. Recommendation as defined by Webster is a counsel or an advice. There are two kinds of recommendation policy recommendation and research recommendation.
