The League Constitution

version 1.0, drafted February 16, 2013 The following constitution is placed into action by The Commissioners (Travis Geisel, Bryce Matteson) to govern The League and all of its members, in order to keep a fair, competitive, and fun fantasy baseball league. I. TEAMS AND ROSTERS 1.1. There will be 10 teams in The League fantasy baseball league consisting of a mix of American and National league players. Each team will consist of 25 players (22 starters and 3 bench slots). 1.2. A team's roster consists of the following players: 5 outelders 1 catcher 1 second baseman 1 shortstop 1 second baseman or shortstop 1 rst baseman 1 third baseman 1 rst or third baseman 1 utility player (non-pitcher who can be any offensive player) 9 pitchers (any combination of starters and relievers) 3 bench 2 disabled list 1.3. There is a minimum innings requirement for all staffs of 1,000 innings. Anyone who does not achieve 1,000 innings, will be placed last in the categories of ERA and WHIP. 1.4 There is a maximum starts limit of 200 starts. Once a pitching staff reaches 200 starts, all pitching stats are frozen for the season (including relief appearances). II. AUCTION 2.1. Each team must acquire 25 players at a total cost not to exceed $260 (not real money). A team need not spend the maximum. 2.2. Teams will nominate players for acquisition in reverse order of previous years standings. 2.3. Any player listed on the ESPN draft site is eligible to be drafted.

2.4. The team bidding rst opens with a salary bid of at least $1 for any eligible player and the bidding proceeds at minimum increments of $1 until only one bidder is left. That team acquires the nominated player for the nal bid amount. The process is repeated, with successive owners nominating players to be bid on, until every team has acquired a squad of 25 players by requisite position. 2.5. No team may make a bid for a player it cannot afford. For example, a team with $3 left and two openings on its roster is limited to a maximum bid of $2 for one player. (Leaving $1 for the other unlled roster spot.) 2.6. No team may bid for a player who qualies only at a position that the team has already lled and that team has already fullled its utility position. 2.7. The salary of a player acquired in the major league auction is his nal bid amount. III. POSITION ELIGIBILITY 3.1. Position eligibility will be determined and enforced by the ESPN fantasy baseball site. 3.2. A player must have played in a minimum of 20 games in the previous season at a position to be eligible for that position. 3.3. Once a player has played a minimum of 10 days in a position during the regular season they will have that position added to their eligibility. IV. FEES 4.1. The entrance fee is $50. 4.2. All fees must be paid by KEEPER SELECTION DAY, which will occur yearly 1 week before the draft. Unless arrangements have been made, commissioner has right to freeze rosters until fees are up to date. 4.3. All transactions made throughout the season are free. V. PLAYER SALARIES 5.1. A players rst year salary is auction price. 5.2. A players salary will change year-to-year. A players salary will be determined using auction price, years owned, and the rst published ESPN auction values yearly. The formula for a players salary is as follows:

[1st auction price + additional years salaries + current year ESPN auction value] # years owned 5.3. Once a player is not kept, he is released of his contract. If he is drafted, that auction price becomes his new salary. 5.4. If a players salary includes a decimal, it will always round up. (i.e. 15.2 = $16) 5.5. SAMPLE: Babe Ruth gets drafted in 2012 for $20. In 2013, ESPN has his auction value at $30. To keep him that year, the owner must pay (20+30)/2 = $25 to keep him. In 2014, ESPN has his auction value at $35. To keep him that year, the owner must pay (20+25+35)/3 = 26.66. Salaries will always round up to the nearest dollar, making his salary for year 3 $27. etc.... VI. PRIZE MONEY 6.1. All fees shall be paid promptly, collected, and wisely invested by the League Commissioners, who are empowered to subject owners to public humiliation and to assess nes as needed to insure payments are made to The League in a timely fashion. 6.2. The money shall be divided among the teams in the nal standings as follows: rst place : $200 second place : $100 third place : $65 fourth place : $35 fth place : $30 sixth place : $25 seventh place : $20 eighth place : $15 ninth place : $10 tenth place : $0 6.3. Final standings are complete on the nal day of the MLB regular season. VII. STANDINGS 7.1. The following 5x5 standard ESPN criteria are used to determine team performance: Composite Batting Average Total Runs Scored Total Home Runs Total Runs Batted In Total Stolen Bases Total Wins Total Saves Composite Earned Run Average

Composite pitching ratio of walks and hits to innings pitched (RATIO = (BB + H)/IP) Composite strikeouts per inning pitched 7.2. Teams are ranked from rst to last in each of the ten categories, and given points for each place. For example, in a fteen-team league, the rst-place team in a category receives fteen points, the second-place team fourteen, and so on down to one point for last place. The team with the most total points wins the pennant. 7.3. In case of ties in an individual category, the tied teams are assigned points by totaling points for the rankings at issue and dividing by the total number of teams tied. 7.4. In case of ties in total points, each team involved in the tie is compared to all other teams involved in the tie in each individual category. One point is given to each team for leading in a category. The team with the most points using this method wins the tiebreaker. If, after this method is used, it is still a tie, the tie stands. 7.5. ESPN governs and runs all standings. 7.6. If there is a tie at the end of the nal standings, The Commissioners will issue a tiebreaker based upon the following: 1. most players in the nal Player Rater Top 50 determined by ESPN 2. highest rated player on the nal Player Rater determined by ESPN VIII. The purpose of this rule is to keep players from throwing stats and avoiding games that would effect the standings. The Commissioners have the rights to review the rule and enforce punishments. 8.4. In the case that 2 MLB teams need to play a 1-game regular season playoff, ESPN has full rights to count those game stats to a fantasy teams standings. IX. TRADES 9.1. The Commissioner's have the ability to: - ask for an explanation of the trade before upholding it - take the trade to a league wide vote if they cannot agree on a verdict 3. In the case that a league wide vote is required, the league will be notied immediately and will have a set time to log onto the league page and vote. This does not reect or count towards a players salary. 10.4. There is no limit to the number of free agent acquisitions each team makes. 10.5. Free agent acquisitions will complete at 11am daily.

10.6. If a player who is under salary by Team A is dropped, and picked up by Team B through waivers, the players contract continues, now with Team B. Players salaries and contracts are not void until they are not kept during the auction draft process. 10.7. There will be no free agent acquisitions allowed during the off-season. XI.
